Caption Contest 189: Enter Piranha Plant
Posted on November 05 2018 by Rod Lloyd
Hey there, all you Zelda fans! Are you ready for another exciting edition of our weekly Caption Contest? Last week’s Nintendo Direct blew the lid off Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s full roster, revealing the last few characters yet to be announced. And one oddball fighter that was revealed late in the show was Piranha Plant. This Super Mario Bros. staple will be the game’s first DLC character, and it’s a weird choice for sure. So, as we continue hyping up Smash Ultimate‘s release next month, we’re letting Piranha Plant take the spotlight in this week’s contest.
Last Week’s Contest:
We let the Stalchildren play for the week of Halloween.

And here our non-photo caption winners:
- Oliver Feins: “Cuz this is thriller! Thriller time!”
- IceRod: “Mindless drones everywhere – it must be election night!”
- Galaxy Flowers: “Mambo No. 5”
This Week’s Contest:
Feel free to throw as much shade at Piranha Plant as you want, because it seems he has no qualms with throwing shade at Toon Link.
Here are the guidelines:
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
- If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
- Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
- Have fun and be creative!
Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows? Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners!
