During last week’s Spring Nindies Showcase, Nintendo revealed the newest entry in the Zelda lineup, a spin-off rhythm game called Cadence of Hyrule. And since the game’s announcement, we’ve been learning more and more about this new adventure in Hyrule. In fact, one piece of information recently revealed is that the pixel art in Cadence of Hyrule was created by two artists behind the acclaimed Sonic Mania.

Art director for Sonic Mania Tom Fry (now of Evening Star Studios) took to Twitter last week to praise the artwork of Paul Veer and Midio, as seen in Cadence of Hyrule‘s debut trailer. Both artists produced artwork for Sonic Mania, as well as the Sonic the Hedgehog 25th anniversary art book. Veer is currently the lead artist for Brace Yourself Games, the studio behind Cadence of Hyrule; Midio is an independent artist who has worked on a handful of titles, including River City Ransom: Underground.

Cadence of Hyrule will be making its way to the Switch E-Shop later this spring!
