In the early days of video games, before walkthroughs and guides were a click away on the internet, players had to rely on their own curiosity and ingenuity to unlock the secrets of a game. Occassionally the games themselves would provide hints to the player, available for those hitting a point of frustration or those low on time. Perhaps most nostaligic for fans of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the Fortune Teller. The wacky little sprite bobs and waves while vaguely helping players—for a price. But hey, the music is worth the price of admission.

Musician and composer RebeccaETripp  has remixed the “Fortune Teller Theme,” taking elements from the song’s appearance in A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds. Rebecca explains, “When I was a child, this was one of my favourite themes in LttP! Back then, I found it mesmerizing and deeply mysterious. While the original, composed by Koji Kondo, is very short, I decided to lengthen it and develop it a little bit further.”

RebeccaETripp is a “composer, arranger, gamer, writer, amateur philosopher, and video essayist,” who has created many remixes of music from popular video game franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, and The Secret of Mana.
