The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has received quite a bit of attention ever since its release, ranging from its phenomenal reviews to theories. It’s success has led to be released as a standalone game, as part of the Special Edition, part of the Master Edition, and, most recently, part of the Explorer’s Edition, with the Explorer’s Edition including the game (DLC not included), an explorer’s guide, and a map of Hyrule as well as the Great Plateau. Something interesting to note regarding the Explorer’s Edition, however, is that HMK, a popular Zelda theorist, recently found a quote from the explorer’s guide stating “…Consider purchasing the expansion pass, which includes the first two DLC packs.” on page 94.

While the quote does appear to imply that there may be future DLC for Breath of the Wild, there hasn’t been any confirmation by Nintendo as of the time of writing that this is the case so it may be subject to change in the future.

But what do you guys think? Would you like to see more Breath of the Wild DLC after the Champion’s Ballad? Let us know in the comments below!

Probably just a translation error, am I right? Just kidding đŸ˜›

This is actually pretty exciting. I just hope Nintendo keeps any future DLC beyond Champions Ballad restricted to just the one Expansion Pass.

Maybe I’m just an idiot, but that doesn’t sound like an implication towards more DLC to me.

And if it were, I’m honestly not excited. After Champion’s Ballad, I want them to put this game to rest and begin work on the next one. Time to move on. It’s had its time in the sun.

It actually probably is, Japanese kinda does things like this sometimes. It might for example simply be “the first dlc pack and includes the second” but it’s written in a way were you can translate it as including the first two.

“first two DLC packs” implies that there will be more DLC packs.

As for putting this game to rest, I hope they don’t quite yet. Otherwise, I’d sorta feel like the world would’ve been criminally underused as the first truly open-world home console Zelda game in a long time. While I definitely don’t want Nintendo turning into EA, Nintendo has a history of making actually good DLC that wasn’t already on the disc when I bought the game.

We can all hope, but Nintendo did price it based on only including the two expansions, so if there is another major update, it will likely be an additional cost. Not so fun on the consumer level, but it keeps them in business.

As much as I would like if they did more DLC to use that big pretty world they made, I think the text is more of a legal protection. By saying that, should they decide to do another DLC later on, they can’t have people come and say “It says I should have all the DLC, I shouldn’t have to pay for the new one”.
