When a video game gives you almost total freedom, it is only natural for creative gamers to find unique or even crazy tricks to finish the game in a few hours or simply skip certain moments. Breath of the Wild is no different, as players have continually found interesting ways to overcome Shrines and other significant milestones throughout Link’s adventure. In an interview with IGN, series producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi shared their opinions on the matter.
According to Fujibayashi, they are more than excited about this phenomenon:
“That was definitely one of our goals. That’s totally all according to plan. A big theme of this game was that there should be multiple answers, multiple methods, multiple ways of doing anything. All the dungeons, we wanted to make it so that the players would be able to solve problems in any way they wanted to without us even being able to know what they would do to solve it.”
“It had to be an environment where they could do things we couldn’t predict if it would work, so we have a lot of fun watching the videos and seeing people do things that we didn’t actually predict and things that are totally unique.”
“So yeah, it worked out,” Fujibayashi summed up.
So even when things aren’t planned, it’s still all according to plan. It’s always fun to find new and unpredictable solutions to tricky puzzles.
What do you think of Fujibayashi’s response? Let us know in the comments.
