It’s no surprise that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is soaring right now, between its upcoming HD re-release and the themes we witnessed in the new Breath of the Wild 2 trailer. It’s enough to make some of us wonder if these two games will go hand in hand as they share similar elements, such as Link falling through the sky and a world floating above the ground. Now, wonder no more, as prolific modder Waikuteru has brought these two games together harmoniously.

“The Lost Records” is a fan-made expansion for Breath of the Wild, via the Cemu emulator, activated by going to the Spring of Power and discovering Link’s past adventure by finding a book. Players are taken to the Skyview Temple with Fi to greet them, with a mission and a warning to be careful. It’s almost heartwarming to hear from a familiar companion again — which was something we lacked in Breath of the Wild. Waikuteru incorporates classic dungeon settings in the open world, as well Boss Key chests, Heart Containers, and new enemies.

With Skyward Sword blended so beautifully in Breath of the Wild, it’s a given that Ghirahim will make an appearance as the final boss. The first battle is similar in style to the first fight with Ghirahim in Skyward Sword. However, it is the second battle that offers quite the challenge as he doubles himself. Make sure to have non-dubious food prepared!

“The Lost Records” is set for public release on July 14th, which is just a few days before The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD releases. The expansion is currently available for early access through Waikuteru’s Patreon right here.

You can see more of Waikuteru’s work on their YouTube channel and GameBanana page.

So if you’re tired of searching for Korok Seeds or you’re done finding new ways to obtain the Master Sword, keep a lookout for “The Lost Records”. This expansion offers significant challenges and features that make it feel as if it belongs in Breath of the Wild.
