Update: Dark Horse has revealed the cover art of Breath of the Wild — Creating a Champion, which was illustrated by Takumi Wada.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Zelda series and the release of Breath of the Wild, Nintendo of Japan published Breath of the Wild Master Works, a special edition art book featuring concept designs, developer interviews, and other development secrets from the latest Zelda adventure. Since its release late last year, we have been blown away by what we’ve seen from the book, and we were excited to learn of when it would come to territories outside of Japan. Fortunately, it has been announced that publisher Dark Horse has localized Master Works, now titled Breath of the Wild — Creating a Champion, with the book scheduled for release on November 20th.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — Creating a Champion can now be pre-ordered from Amazon right here, for a price of $39.99 USD.

The book’s product description offers some more specific information:

This oversized hardcover is the ultimate companion to the award-winning video game The Legend of Zelda(TM): Breath of the Wild and includes material from both of its DLC packs

This book features nearly fifty pages of sketches and official illustrations from Takumi Wada, two-hundred and ninety-six pages of design artwork and commentary about the making of the game from the creators, a fifty-five-page historical section that divulges the history of Hyrule as it is known in-game, and interviews with key members of the development team–Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Satoru Takizawa, Takumi Wada, and Eiji Aonuma. Witness the making of a champion!”

I’m tempted to pick up Creating a Champion for the exclusive artwork alone. So with the various interviews and development stories being localized for western audiences, this book should be a great addition to any Zelda fan’s collection.
