Breath of the Wild 2 Wins Most Anticipated Nintendo Game at the E3 Awards

I think I speak for everyone when I say I’m still reeling from the reveals at this year’s E3. There was a decent amount of ups and downs throughout the all-virtual conference from all manner of companies. I myself got real excited about Slime Rancher 2 and the trailer for Rune Factory 5; but of course here at Zelda Dungeon, the Nintendo Direct on the final day was our big fanfare. We’ve dropped a number of articles here on the site already about our thoughts and interpretations of all the new content revealed, but a number of prolific gaming editors have now chimed in on the show. The E3 Awards, an annual traditional between IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer, and Gamesradar+, have declared their “Winners of E3.”
Unfortunately for us fans over here, the top spot of the awards went to Forza Horizon 5, a game I don’t even remember seeing at all. However, over in the category of Most Anticipated Nintendo Game, Breath of the Wild 2 has taken the award, beating out Metroid: Dread, WarioWare: Get It Together, and Mario Party Superstars. Despite being the most far off for release out of the four, it’s hard to deny that two years of build up can do a lot to drum up hype for a game. I’m ultimately just hoping we’ll be seeing more of the game before too long.
You can check out the rest of the E3 Award winners right here over on IGN and the actual E3 Awards Show here.
What are your thoughts? Is Breath of the Wild 2 your most anticipated Nintendo game? What was your most anticipated game at the conference overall? Let us know in the comments below!
