To say that Breath of the Wild bucked a lot of Zelda tropes and traditions is an understatement. From its open-world structure that allowed you to tackle each of its four dungeons in any order to the inclusion of the series’ first motorcycle, the game wasn’t afraid to go boldly into uncharted territory. One of the biggest changes, in my opinion, was how BotW handled the inclusion of Link’s special abilities. From the offset of the adventure, you’re given a singular device that allows access to every Rune that Link needs to complete his quest: the Sheikah Slate.

And I want one.

Luckily, people like me that covet such things are in luck, as YouTube content creator Much Props has devised a means of making your own. Using a 7″ Amazon Fire tablet, various tools and materials, and some elbow grease, they’ve crafted a functional Sheikah Slate and provided video instructions for doing so. It’s a bit daunting for someone like myself who isn’t quite as crafty as he’d like to be, but those who are up to the task can find themselves with a wonderful piece of homemade Zelda memorabilia.

If you like what you saw and want to see what other impressive pieces Much Props has created, please be sure to give the rest of their channel a look.
