Four Swords Adventures Box Artwork

When doing my rounds of the community, the folks at GoNintendo posted about an old article found at Joystiq. The article, originally posted in 2008, discusses the potential of another Four Swords Adventures title, this time for the Nintendo Wii. Four Swords Adventures was doomed from the get go, simply because the massive amounts of accessories needed to even play the game with friends. Many Zelda fans, myself included, were never able to experience what many believe to be a true hidden gem in the Zelda community.

So without dwelling too far into the past, let’s look ahead at the future. Is there really any reason at this point in time why there cannot be another Four Swords title for the Nintendo Wii? This time, perhaps with the inclusion of online multiplayer? I personally don’t care much for online multiplayer for a Zelda title, but simply a more accessible multiplayer game would work just as fine. Just a game that can be played on my Nintendo Wii with four people and four Wiimote controls would be great. Think New Super Mario Bros, but in Four Swords Adventures style. A game where you can work together or work against one another in friendly competition. New Super Mario Bros offered quite the balance, and really, the more I think about it, the more I see strong resemblances between the two games.
