March of the Koroks is an event held by the Zelda Creators community that will hopefully remain an annual staple. The event started in 2022, and was one of my favorite fan events of last year (alongside Linktober). If March of the Koroks sounds unfamiliar: it’s a collaborated effort for Zelda fans of all skill levels and artistic mediums to band together to create as many Koroks as possible, and then compile each Korok onto one massive canvas! Earlier today…

Completely out of left field, Nintendo surprised us this morning with an announcement of a showcase of “roughly 10 minutes” of Tears of the Kingdom gameplay! Series producer Eiji Aonuma will be playing the game tomorrow, March 28th, at 7 AM PT on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.   Join The Legend of #Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, for roughly 10 minutes of gameplay from The Legend of Zelda: #TearsOfTheKingdom on 3/28 at 7:00 a.m. PT on our YouTube channel. ▶️ https://t.co/uMUCfVjFQL…

Zelda fans are on a wave once again! The Nintendo Direct from a few weeks ago showcasing Tears of the Kingdom has rejuvenated so much for fans. Theorists are once more at work scouring the new video and fanfiction writers are swooning over Link jumping to Zelda’s rescue, but my favorite part of the buzz after a Zelda trailer is seeing fan art from all of my favorite Zelda fan artists! Daeyumi is hands down one of them, and besides…

After much anticipation, this morning Nintendo announced that this year’s first Nintendo Direct will be tomorrow, February 8th, 2023 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. We can expect roughly 40 minutes of game footage focused on “games launching in the first half of 2023.” A Nintendo Direct in and of itself is always an exciting announcement, although typically we never know for sure what to look forward to out of it. This Direct could be different! We know…

A few days ago, my good friend Ike over on Twitter sent me an idea pitch to spotlight streamer and content creator TriFelicia. Ike was really passionate about her ongoing series of videos over on TikTok covering theories on Tears of the Kingdom, of which she has done over a hundred! I found that devotion so impressive; I had to dig bit deeper to see these theories for myself. I watched a few of the earliest videos first. Seeing the…

There are two things in my life that I’ve always enjoyed: art and writing/storytelling. As both an artist and writer, when I evaluate games outside of just gameplay, the main two things I care about are whether there is a meaningful story being conveyed, and if there is a strong visual language/art direction being utilized. The Legend of Zelda series has many games that excel at this criteria, but perhaps among the best is Twilight Princess. It has a unique…

Scrolling through the Twitter timeline as a Zelda fan looking for Zelda-themed art is like being a kid in a candy store! However, a really cool series of art began by the artist Stoic Seraphim in September of last year has really stood out. The prompt: If Fierce Deity’s Mask was an item in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.   ~If Fierce Deity Mask was an Item in Smash: Sora~#SmashBros #Zelda #KingdomHearts pic.twitter.com/B6aBGXgnyt — Stoic Seraphim (@Stoic_Miiverse) September 3, 2022 It…

By now, many of us have probably seen images that have surfaced on social media of a “leaked” Special Edition Tears of the Kingdom-themed Switch OLED model. Multiple photographs of the Switch’s box, and separate photos taken of the Joy-Cons and screen still in the plastic, have sent fans into a frenzy over whether the alleged leak is real or fake.   Rumor is these are photos of the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Special Exition Switch OLED…

Millions of people across the globe know about The Legend of Zelda. The series has touched the lives of so many and has created nostalgia that we hold dear. During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct for the reveal of the second trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie, Seth Rogan, who will be voicing Donkey Kong in the film, mentioned that Shigeru Miyamoto’s creations have certainly impacted him, so much that he named his dog Zelda! “For my entire life I…

Rebooted media can be hit or miss, and definitely feels like it fails more times than it turns out successfully. There are times where it can work out extremely well however, and usually it’s with video games (just look at Tomb Raider, or God of War). Niether of these series had been around over 30 years, with numerous entrys like with The Legend of Zelda, though. I sometimes wonder if a reboot of such a beloved and well established series…
