The Japanese Skyward Sword website has updated the world map with two new sections of the first area of the overworld and some new information about the sky. These two new areas include many things that we’ve seen in older trailers but haven’t gotten much attention recently. This update includes screenshots, artwork, videos, and (Japanese) descriptions. First, there were two minor additions to the Skyloft section. A description of the bug-catching and potion-upgrading system was added, along with a closer…

As more information about Skyward Sword flows in, it’s easy to forget about some of it. You probably remember that Miyamoto gave a presentation about Skyward Sword at the Nintendo 3DS Conference in September, but what did we get out of that? Aside from a neat CG trailer and a new gameplay video, Miyamoto added some comments about the controls, the development, and what to expect from the game. One of these revelations was supposedly that Skyward Sword will feature…

Over the past few days, we have been inundated with new Skyward Sword content, including summaries, videos, screenshots, developer comments, and announcements. Instead of writing an article filled with more theoretical analysis (at this point I might as well wait until the game comes out), I’ve created a list of important new details along with some commentary. Most of the information from GameInformer has already been summarized, so I focused on the three new videos. Nintendo 3DS Conference Video 0:06…

Bill Trinen on G4

August 11 2011 by Locke

To complement Trinen’s appearance on GameSpot and GameTrailers, G4 showed a Skyward Sword gameplay preview on X-Play, featuring a short interview with Trinen.

GameTrailers hosted a three-part interview with Bill Trinen at Comic-Con. The interview was separated into three short segments, each with several questions about a particular topic. Surprisingly, the Zelda timeline was the focus of the first part. It’s a topic that’s usually avoided sans one question here or there to appease those interested, but GameTrailers ended up making the timeline a secondary focus for this interview. The part with the timeline questions can be viewed above. Jump inside for the…

IGN got their Rewind Theater up very quickly this time around, since there are only a few new things to talk about in this trailer. Audrey and Sam for the most part do a pretty good job of describing what you see in the trailer and displaying their Zelda knowledge. Of course, like anyone, there are some things that they missed, or decided not to talk about. You can find my thoughts on this feature as well as more things…

After the debut of the new trailer at Comic-Con, GameSpot was able to talk with Bill Trinen about a wide variety of Skyward Sword topics. The video also features good footage of the Ghirahim and Sky Temple demos that were available to play along with the Bird Riding demo at the convention. After the jump, you can find several highlights and quotes.

The August issue of Nintendo Power contained an interview with Eiji Aonuma, producer of Skyward Sword, in which he talks a lot about different elements of the game’s story. Read further if you don’t mind reading several spoilers. The interview can be found here, and a summary with comments are after the jump.

During E3, IndustryGamers was able to talk to Aonuma about Zelda development, Zelda’s future on the Wii U, and the Japanese gaming market. The interview reveals some interesting things about how Aonuma feels about the Zelda series, and some great possibilities for the Wii U. When asked whether he wants to work on other things besides Zelda, Aonuma responded: Yeah, the truth of it is I always want to work on something new. It just turns out that as I’m…
