Happy October 1st, everyone! If you’ve been in the Zelda community long enough, you’ve likely heard about a little art challenge that happens in the month of October called Linktober. Linktober has been around for a number of years, and it is loved by many in the community, myself included. Linktober’s creator, Joel Siegal, has curated two different challenge calendars this year for artists to participate in. All forms of art are accepted, and any level of artist is welcome to participate! Whether you do one day or all thirty-one, you are welcome to join. You can check out those calendars over on Linktober’s website, or your can check out our coverage of this year’s challenge here.

Now, you might be wondering why the sudden return of a series that has been sleeping soundly in the proverbial Shrine of Resurrection for nearly a year. As an artist, a lover of all things Zelda, and a member of the Linktober community for the last few years, I wanted to see the return of Zelda Dungeon’s Artists for Legend, even if it was just for a month. Before, Artists of Legend featured a challenge that was tailored for our readers. This time, there will be no challenge. This short return of Artists of Legend will be to highlight the artists and artwork created by those participating in this year’s Linktober. Artwork will be credited and shared on a weekly basis; that way the entire month of the challenge is covered. So be sure to check back at the end of each week in October, and at the end of the month to see if you have been featured!

How do I submit to Linktober?

Submitting is simple! Just follow these steps:

  • When posting your work to Twitter or Instagram use #linktober.
  • The Linktober team is fabulous at sharing artwork so all you have to use the tag and check your socials.

How do I submit to this specific challenge?

Another easy step! When posting your artwork with the #linktober tag, just add the #artistsoflegend tag. This will ensure that you’ll be seen, and it gives me the okay for us to potentially feature your artwork. I would love to be able to feature everyone, but alas, only so much will fit in one post. So be sure to use our tag and Linktober’s tag.

I can’t wait to see what you all create! Good luck out there! Are you participating in this year’s Linktober? Let us know in the comments below.
