Hello and welcome to back to Artists of Legend! I am so excited to bring back this series for the month of October and I hope that I can give it the same kind of justice as my predecessors before me! In our announcement post about this series’ brief return we discussed Linktober and what the challenge is all about. You can read more about Linktober here, but for now let’s get into some week one Linktober pieces!

Week One’s prompts were: Bird, Bones, Miniature, Favorite Character, Adventure Pouch, and Nightfall. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite’s from this week’s prompts. Be sure to give these amazing artists a follow if you like their work!

Day 1 found us looking to the sky for the prompt “Bird,” and the artist nukedave on Instagram gave us a beautiful take on the prompt! It looks like Link is pretty enamored by Hyrule’s wildlife too, he might want to pay attention to where he is going.

Day 2 took us to the graveyard and beyond as artists pondered the prompt, “Bones.” I love this piece of the Leviathan bones by ZD’s very own Senior Editor, Charles Xavier, also known as vehsketch on Instagram.

Day 3 found artists looking for all things “Miniature” in The Legend of Zelda and artist, luckynumber13 on Twitter created the cutest mini cucco! You might want to be careful of this little fella though, looks like it’s getting ready to summon its friends!

Day 4 found artists choosing their “Favorite Character”! Personally I drew Link and Zelda as my favorite characters but, and neiry263 on Twitter created the absolute cutest pictures of Sidon!

Day 5 saw artists looking at the different kinds of “Adventure Pouches” found in the The Legend of Zelda! I’m going o feature my own piece for this one because I’m proud of my work and it’s fun to share one’s work! I did different pouches and bags from The Wind Waker! I love all of the bag options in that series.

Day 6 saw things getting a little spooky for the prompt “Ghost.” I love elven_ariaera on Instagram’s take on ghost! It features mother and child, Rutela and Ralis from Twilight Princess! Beautifully illustrated!!

Week one’s final prompt was “Nightfall!” ohgreatmoreboats on Instagram set the perfect Blood Moon scene as Zelda sleeps soundly, not knowing what the morning brings! I love seeing artists think outside the box and step away from the traditional art for Linktober!

That’s the week one round up! What did you think of all of these different pieces? Which one was your favorite? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to follow along for the rest of the month for more amazing and legendary artwork!
