SketchPadArtwork created by fans is posted on a daily bases and there have been many amazing pieces of art over the years.  For those who don’t have a talent for drawing, like me, the Art Academy games on the Nintendo DS can provide tips and lessons on how to acquire this talent. The Wii U version, Art Academy: SketchPad, doesn’t have any lessons and is solely a drawing tool but, in a recent post on Twitter, Nintendo UK announced a competition for drawings based on The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

There are only a few days to go until the event takes place but there hasn’t been a whole lot of information announced. Even though it was announced by Nintendo UK, I’m assuming submissions from other countries will be able to be made, too. Eiji Aonuma announced in a Miiverse post:

Miiverse

It would appear that the event will last for more than the one day so there should be plenty of time for those wanting to participate to perfect their entries. Exactly how long it will actually last has yet to be announced. It appears there are a few extras planned for Art Academy: SketchPad to improve the creative experience, such as lessons like in the Nintendo DS versions, but they probably won’t be out in time for the event. Even so, it seems the game has plenty to offer which will allow for some amazing artwork to be submitted. While I won’t be participating, it will be interesting to see what artwork will be submitted.

Will you be participating in the event? Have you tried any of the Art Academy games? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
