Aonuma Crushes Dreams Of A Skyward Sword Without Motion Controls
Posted on June 13 2019 by John Piland
Amidst the news on Cadence of Hyrule, Link’s Awakening, and the sequel to Breath of the Wild, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has shed some light on a game fans have long dreamed of.
When asked by GameInformer about the possibility of a Skyward Sword remake without the need for motion controls, Aonuma was quick to shut the idea down.
“So you’re saying control it all with buttons? That’s a little hard! I think it might be close to impossible!”
Those hoping for new life to find breath upon other Zelda installments are likely to meet similar disappointment, as Aonuma has said there are currently no plans for another remake.
“Currently I don’t have plans, but there is a title that we can incorporate new elements or new features that is perhaps a perfect fit for a remake, then maybe we’ll consider it.”
This news may come as bleak to a lot of fans, but at least some closure has been offered. On the bright side, Aonuma only said that there are no plans for future remakes – not that any others aren’t in development.
What are your thoughts on this information? Would you like to see a Skyward Sword sans-motion controls? Are you disappointed at little hope for further remakes in the near future? Let us know in the comments below.
