Following in the footsteps of Breath of the Wild, the newly announced sequel doesn’t shy away from taking inspiration from other games. After questioning by IGN on what games the younger Zelda team was playing for inspiration, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma responded, “[Something] I did hear that a lot of people were playing was Red Dead Redemption 2.”
When asked what he has been up to, Aonuma replied that his time has been occupied with this year’s releases of Cadence of Hyrule and Link’s Awakening. “Recently I’ve been very busy, especially with Link’s Awakening… So on my breaks I’ve been playing Cadence of Hyrule. So I’ve been kind of overloaded with a lot of Zelda recently,” he said.
