It’s amazing how much time people have logged into playing Breath of the Wild. I have a friend who has over 1,000 hours in the game, meanwhile I have a measly ~200 hours. I’m sure speedrunners and modders have spent thousands of hours honing glitches, fine tuning tricks involving the game’s remarkable physics system, or working on additions to the game. So when we hear about new discoveries four years after the game released, it makes sense considering how many people continue to experiment with it.

With a game as massive as Breath of the Wild, bugs unfortunately slipped through to release – have you ever found that hole in the cliffside near the Akkala Fairy Fountain, or any of the other similar holes around the world? More annoying is searching the world for treasure chests, and then finding one that you can see but cannot obtain by normal means; perhaps most infamously the chest in the water at Aris Beach (which was eventually reached, and it only has an opal inside). There are other chests that can be picked up by the Sheikah Sensor+, but are not visible by any normal means. Recently one such chest in Hateno Village was finally found.

Located in a pond east of Ton Puu Inn, the chest can be picked up by the sensor, but it’s not visible because it spawns below the map. Using a serious of glitches, the DLC Travel Medallion, and Cryonis, devoted players can clip beneath the ground to open it. The payoff is hardly worth all the effort though, since the chest only contains a Purple Rupee.

Did you ever get stumped looking around for this treasure chest, or any of the other glitched chests across the world? Sound off in the comments below!
