Amazing Zelda Baked Creations

Creative baker and blogger Cakecrumbs recently posted some pics of her latest creations, the six sage medallions from Ocarina of Time and a pastry replica of the ancient robot Scrapper from Skyward Sword. The sage medallions were made as a set of cupcakes with the medallion symbols placed on the top of each in the corresponding color. Scrapper however is a much more detailed creation made out of a few cupcakes and some clever use of icing. She admits that this was her first attempt at creating edible fanart however she is no stranger to cake decorations having done that many times before. With Zelda being one of her biggest fandoms this was an obvious choice. Jump inside to check out some pics for yourself.

I love the design elements in Zelda titles, and The Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest games aesthetically. The symbolism is fantastic. So while I was waiting for the cupcakes to cool for a separate fan art project, I decided to kill time making something simpler. These weren’t as speedy as I imagined them to be and took me quite a while to finish. But I had so much fun, humming the associated songs while making them.

Plus later on they made their very own version of Scrapper from Skyward Sword using the same techniques. This one was a later creation using a more detailed process. Luckily she provided several pics and some descriptions going over the process of creating it.

Oh wow, I was pretty amazed with the sage medallion cupcakes but the Scrapper was just too great. I’m not so sure I could ever ruin it by eating it though. It would have to stay on the table…forever. I have seen a few interesting Zelda themed cake creations in the past but the medallions was a pretty creative way to feature cupcakes. It’s simple and still perfectly represents the item from the game almost exactly.
