YouTube musician String Player Gamer recently released an absolutely beautiful rendition of the Song of Healing. The original Majora’s Mask composition already has the unique quality of being both soothing and chilling at the same time. But when someone throws the cries of a violin and the soft tones of a guitar into the mix, we’ve got an emotionally moving masterpiece on our hands.

In addition to the Song of Healing’s melody serving as the arrangement’s driving force, there are also little flourishes of Zelda’s Lullaby and the main theme incorporated into the piece. The aim of the arrangement seems to be to enhance the emotion and atmosphere of the original tune, and I’d say it pulls that off amazingly well. With the sounds of a rainstick and synths hiding away in the background, there are many haunting sounds to listen for on repeat viewings.
