The Twilight Princess manga, created by Akira Himekawa in 2016, has spanned multiple years of publication and is still receiving new volumes – even into the year 2020. Recently, VIZ Media, publisher of the manga’s English translation, posted an interview with the women who created the manga onto YouTube. Akira Himekawa, the creative duo, have done interviews and panels in the past; though it is exciting to see the two actively promoting their manga.

For those unfamiliar with its creation, the Zelda manga is based around the game, though there are some differences, as the creators discuss in their newest interview. Notably, a big difference between the game and the manga is how they revealed Midna’s true identity at the beginning of the story, which counters the original storyline of the game. They also added in new storylines and scenes, like the story of how Princess Zelda and Midna became friends or how Link gets his arm cut off by King Bulblin

The authors affirm the time and effort put into their creation, and also note that they wanted to create comfort and familiarity in their characters to take away from the intensity that is Twilight Princess. All in all, there is a lot of content condensed into the five-minute video, and it’s an exciting watch for any fan of the Twilight Princess manga series.
