At this point, you may be wondering what business the Blue Bomber has on a Zelda website, and in the back of your mind you’re trying to figure out where you heard the name Keiji Inafune. Diehard MegaMan fans should already know the answer, and by now, you’ve probably also figured it out. Keiji Inafune is the mastermind behind the classic series, Megaman (or Rockman, as Japanese readers would know the game as), and in a recent interview, Inafune named A Link to the Past as his favorite game!

The interview in question was done by the popular gaming publication, Joystiq, at the recent Tokyo Game Show. You can see the interview below, which also includes the favorite of Hiroshi Kawano (president of Sony Computer Entertainment of Japan):

Though we may never know if Inafune’s absolute favorite game is A Link to the Past or one of his own creations, as Joystiq limited his options to franchises Inafune had not started, the father of MegaMan seemed pretty certain in his answer. Though you may not realize it now, over 20 years since its release, A Link to the Past was a pretty revolutionary game, and it showed Inafune “how interesting a game could be.”
