The Magical Boomerang is an upgrade to the classic Zelda item, the Boomerang.

Appearances

The Legend of Zelda

The Magical Boomerang is an upgrade to the Boomerang in The Legend of Zelda. In the First Quest, it is found in Level 2: The Moon. It is guarded by three Blue Goriyas, all of which must be defeated. The Magical Boomernag travels further than the normal boomerang,[1] making it a much more reliable option in combat. Most enemies are simply stunned when the Boomerang hits them.[2] However, some small enemies, like Keese and Gel, can be damaged using the magical boomerang.[3] In the Second Quest, the Magical Boomerang is found in Level 3: The Manji instead of Level 2.

A Link to the Past

"Boomerang
The Boomerang has weak destructive power, but it has the ability to stun most enemies for a short period of time. The Boomerang is the item of choice when walking about Hyrule because you can use it to quickly retrieve items such as Hearts, Rupees, Arrows and Bombs.

"Magical Boomerang
The Mysterious Pond behind a waterfall is where Link will be able to get the Magical Boomerang. The resident Faerie will exchange Link's Blue Boomerang for a Magical red one.

In A Link to the Past, Link can acquire the Magical Boomerang by throwing the regular Boomerang into the Waterfall of Wishing and getting the magical one in return from the fairy living there. The Magical Boomerang flies much farther than the regular one and can cut down plants and bushes. The Magical Boomerang is not required to beat the game.

Oracle of Seasons

In Oracle of Seasons, the Magical Boomerang can be found within the Ancient Ruins. The Magical Boomerang can fly farther than the regular Boomerang and can cut down plants, bushes, and grass. In addition, the Magical Boomerang can be controlled and steered by holding down the item button and using the control pad.

The Minish Cap

In order to acquire the Magical Boomerang in The Minish Cap, Link must fuse Kinstones with Tingle and his look-alikes: Ankle, Knuckle, and David Jr. The Magical Boomerang can be controlled and steered by holding down the item button and using the control pad. This item is not required to beat the game.
