Template:Dungeon

The Lakebed Temple is the third dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It is located at the bottom of Lake Hylia. It is a water-themed dungeon, much like that of the Water Temple from Ocarina of Time. In order to gain access to the Lakebed Temple, Link will need Water Bombs, Iron Boots, and Zora Armor. Link is searching the temple for the third and final Fused Shadow.

The temple used to be a place of worship for the Zora. However, at some point in time, it was infested with monsters. The Zora were forced to flee the temple and block it off. However, Link can use Water Bombs to gain entrance into the dungeon. As Link is searching the dungeon, he finds himself trapped in a room with the mini-boss of the dungeon, the Deku Toad. After defeating it, he will be rewarded with the Clawshot. He uses the Clawshot to gain the Big Key, which allows him entrance in the Boss Chamber. He enters it and defeats Morpheel for the final Fused Shadow.

Enemies

Here are all the enemies that Link will encounter as he travels through the Lakebed Temple in search of the final Fused Shadow.

Deku Toad

The Mini-boss of the Lakebed Temple is known as the Deku Toad. Hence the name, it is a large toad that lives in the Lakebed Temple. It guards the Dungeon Item of the Lakebed Temple, the Clawshot, and seeing how Link requires the Clawshot to complete the dungeon, this might get ugly. Upon entrance to the room where the Deku Toad lies, Link will find it empty. After looking around for a clue on how to continue moving forward, he will see the Deku Toad on the ceiling. The Deku Toad will then proceed to fall down to the ground and begin the battle. The battle area is a simple oval-shaped room with about an inch of fluid on the floor, whether it's water or something else Link will never know. Link can use the Ending Blow to defeat the Deku Toad. As it dies, it will spit out a chest, which is fairly disgusting. Inside the chest lies the Dungeon Item of the Lakebed Temple, the Clawshot.

Twilit Aqautic: Morpheel

Twilit Aquatic: Morpheel

The Boss of the Lakebed Temple is known as Twilit Aquatic: Morpheel. It is a large sea-serpent type enemy with scales as hard as rock for skin. As can be expected with Twilight Princess bosses, the weak spot of Morpheel is an eye that has a nice little spot on top of his head. The battle takes place in a large circular room that is completely underwater, so wearing the Zora Armor is a must. Link must attack the eye with his sword a number of times, at which time he can perform the Ending Blow on it, killing Morpheel once and for all. Morpheel will go into a frenzy, smashing into all the pillars that surround the area. It will then smash its head into a wall, creating a hole in which all the water in the area will escape through. Morpheel will explode, and its remains will come together and become the final Fused Shadow.

Dungeon Items

Throughout the Lakebed Temple, Link will be able to find 4 Items that will help him on his way through the temple. These items are the Dungeon Map, the Compass, the Big Key, and the Small Keys.

Dungeon Map

The Dungeon Map is basically its name. It is a map of the entire dungeon. This is very helpful to Link as he travels through the Dungeon. It is found in a chest that is in the main room with the moveable staircase. The first time Link enters this room he can get the map, by simply adjusting and re-adjusting the staircase so he can search every corner of this room. Eventually he will find the chest and acquire the Dungeon Map.

Compass

CompassBox.png

The Compass is a standard for dungeons in Twilight Princess. It has a very useful function; it shows Link the location of every Treasure Chest in the dungeon, as well as the location of the Boss. It lies in a chest on the fourth floor. Right before activating the second switch that releases water, Link can use the Clawshot to get to the other side of the fence. On the other side lies the chest that contains the Compass.

Big Key

The Big Key is the key that will allow Link to open the door to the Boss Room. It can be found in a chest in the room that is the farthest right.

Small Keys

Throughout the Lakebed Temple Link will come across three locked doors that can only be opened with a Small Key. There are three are of them that can be found in the dungeon.

Treasure Chests

Throughout the Lakebed Temple, there are twenty-six total Treasure Chests that are begging Link to open them. All of these chests contains useful items, including Rupees, Dungeon Items, Pieces of Heart, Equipment, and Regular Items.

Rupees

There are six chests in the Lakebed Temple that contain any amount of Rupees. Five of the six chests contain a Red Rupee, which is worth 20 Rupees. The last chest contains a Purple Rupee, which is worth 50 Rupees. This is a pretty good time to get the Big Wallet from Agitha, as Link's Wallet could get pretty full after collecting all those rupees.

Dungeon Items

All four dungeon items are found in Treasure Chests that span the entire Lakebed Temple. The Dungeon Map is, the Compass is, the Big Key is, and all three Small Keys are as well. Keep checking those chests Link!

Pieces of Heart

Main article: Twilight Princess Heart Pieces

As with every dungeon in Twilight Princess there are two Heart Pieces to be found in the dungeon. The first one requires the Clawshot to acquire, while the second one requires both water switches to be activated and the Clawshot.

Equipment

A single chest in the Lakebed Temple carries equipment. This chest contains the dungeon item, the Clawshot. It is acquired by defeating the mini-boss, the Deku Toad, whom will spit out the chest right before it dies.

Regular Items

Eleven chests in the Lakebed Temple carry regular items. These items include Bombs, Arrows, and Water Bombs. Five of these eleven chests carry Bombs, four carry Water Bombs, and two carry Arrows.

Bombs

If Link opens all the Treasure Chests that contain Bombs, he would have acquired 50 Bombs. One chest holds 20 Bombs, two hold 10 Bombs, and two hold 5 Bombs.

Water Bombs

In total, there are 35 Water Bombs available for Link to collect in the Lakebed Temple. Three chests hold 10 Water Bombs, while the final one holds 5 Water Bombs.

Arrows

Last, but not least, are the arrows. If Link opens the two chests that contains arrows, he can collect 40 arrows. Both of the chests that hold arrows are located near the beginning of the dungeon. Also, both chests hold 20 Arrows.
