Notes

  • Nubytech previously released licensed controllers for many game franchises including Sonic, Mega Man, and Resident Evil. This particular controller was being designed for the Nintendo GameCube console.
  • This controller was shown as a prototype in 2005 in anticipation to the release of Twilight Princess. It is likely that the delay of Twilight Princess, along with the port to the Nintendo Wii, caused this prototype never to release.[1]
  • According to some sources, the reason this item never went into production had more to do with the high production cost.[2]
  • Only two of these prototype controllers are known to exist. In February 2012, one of them was sold for the price of $2500 on eBay.[3]
  • The two controllers were just prototypes and they were not functional GameCube controllers.
  • Featured a leathery vambrace and a Hylian shield.
  • The controller was themed around Twilight Princess, including several pieces of artwork.
  • The controller was set to be released within an oversized book box. The book was simply for design and collectible purposes and contained no material other than the actual controller.
