"A magical tool created by sorceresses of old. Use the Strong Attack button to summon a monster, and then do a Combo Attack with the same monster for an extra-powerful strike!"

— In-game description

The Summoning Gate is an unlockable weapon class used by Lana in Hyrule Warriors. It consists of a large gateway that follows Lana, which she uses in combination with dance moves to summon miniature Giant Bosses that fight for her.

The Summoning Gate is a very unpredictable moveset, whose performance relies entirely on chance. Lana's default attack strings and Combo Attacks are slow, leave her vulnerable, and can be highly ineffective, but by using her C1 to augment the Combo Attacks, they become somewhat stronger and protect her; Her C5 is especially notable, easily being one of the strongest attacks in the game and capable of shredding bosses. However, this unpredictability means that the Summoning Gate is an incredibly weak moveset, as Lana will often lack the requirements to effectively control the battlefield.

Variations

  • Gate of Time: The Level 1 variation. Based on the Gate of Time from Skyward Sword.
  • Guardian's Gate: The Level 2 variation.
  • Gate of Souls: The Level 3 variation. Named after the Gate of Souls.
  • Gate of Souls +: The Level 4 variation.
  • Gate of Tides: The Level 4+ variation, which adds Hyrule Warriors Element Water.png Water as a secondary element.

Moveset

Attack Explanation
Base String? Lana performs a string of five attacks; She swings the gate left, thrusts it forward in a burst of energy, splits the gate in half while firing a whirlpool from both pieces, smashes the gate back together to form a magic sphere, and travels inside the sphere before shattering it with a fist pump.
C1? Lana summons a random Giant Boss to attack. After being summoned, the Giant Boss’s icon will appear below the Special Attack gauge, modifying their respective Combo Attack for 10 seconds.
  • King Dodongo: Breathes fire in front of Lana.
  • Manhandla Tendril: Spews poisonous gas in a circle around Lana, slowing down enemies caught in it.
  • Gohma: Fires her eye laser in an arc, straight ahead.
  • Argorok: Breathes fire in a circle around Lana.
C2? Lana summons King Dodongo, who smashes his front legs down; This can be extended, causing King Dodongo to perform his roll attack. If Lana summoned King Dodongo with the C1 and extends the attack, she then summons two clones that spit fireballs in separate directions.
C3? Lana summons a Manhandla tendril, which swings itself around in front of Lana; This can be extended, causing the tendril to fire four expanding volleys of Deku Seeds in an arc formation. If Lana summoned Manhandla with the C1 and extends the attack, she then summons two clones that swing themselves around before firing a short-ranged volley of Deku Seeds.
C4? Lana summons Gohma, who performs her spinning attack; This can be extended, causing Gohma to jump forward and slam down in front of her. If Lana summoned Gohma with the C1 and extends the attack, she then summons two clones that fire their eye lasers in an arc, before shooting explosive energy balls straight ahead.
C5? Lana summons Argorok, who swoops forward while breathing fire; If Lana summoned Argorok with the C1, she jumps onto his back, enabling the player to control Argorok’s movement with the control stick for a short time; Pressing X / Y causes Argorok to shoot a downward fireball that ends the ride early.
Special Attack Lana enlarges the gate, positions it on the ground, and jumps into the air, summoning a giant Cucco that charges forward in a panic, before gliding down with a second Cucco.
Focus Spirit Finisher Manual: Lana uses the gate to blast a volley of fire in front of her.
Automatic: Lana rises into the air, enlarges the gate, and spins it around her, before releasing a fiery explosion.
Weak Point Smash Enemy Captain/Warrior: TBA
Giant Boss: TBA
