Zelda fanatic Stephonika Kaye has been working on a Twilight Princess Novel for quite some time now. This isn’t your regular fan-fiction, but instead this a full blown 48-chapter novel that is a realistic adaptation of Twilight Princess. There are no original characters, major story changes, or any of the usual things you see in Zelda fan-fiction. The one significant change is that while in most of the Zelda series Link is not given a voice, Link does talk in this novel and has quite a personality. Shown below is the authors mission statement that she gave on her sites index page.
When I began writing Twilight Princess, it was for the intent to share it with fans like just myself. This novel adaptation goes out to every fan, every hero, and every companion and princess who laughed, cried, and bled alongside Link. It is my honour to share this piece of fiction with all of you. This is by a fan for fans. Keep sharing the love you have of Zelda, and the legend will continue passing down generation to generation.

As many times as I say it, this is one truth that never changes. There are people out there with awesome ideas. Honestly, the more Zelda fan material I see floating around, the more it inspires me to do something creative with my not-so-interesting life. One of these days, I’m sure it will happen. Eventually, anyways. In the meantime, viewing the property of other people can keep me entertained. OutcastFalcon over on Reddit has an awesome customized hockey helmet that he was inclined to share with the Zelda-loving portion of the world. It’s based on Twilight Princess, and it is by far the coolest headgear I have ever seen. If you’re interested in seeing pictures of the goalie’s helmet, take a look at the pictures after the jump.

There are many different artistic creations made by Zelda fans out there, but this one is rather outside of the box. Some people choose to do digital art, some draw pictures, but this idea really stuck out to me. Artist on deviantART Ragaru made a very realistic representation of Ganondorf out of polymer clay and other various materials, the sculpture itself titled “Dark King of Hyrule”. Not just anybody could pull this off, but Ragaru has done an exceptional job. It is based off of Twilight Princess’s version of Ganondorf, though the artist chose to make a few changes to his wardrobe. The color scheme was influenced by the Wind Waker appearance of him, but Ragaru found the armor from Twilight Princess to his liking and didn’t change it too much. Take a look at the photo below.

With this stream included this will be the 5th time I have played this game live, and hopefully the first time I clear the game under 10 hours. Join me from 11:00 pm ET for a few hours while I tear through the Lakebed Temple and Arbiter’s Grounds. Stream embedded below, or check out our Twitch.tv Page to chat!
Tonight I played through the end of the Goron Mines to the end of Arbiters Grounds. I managed to shave off a total of 20 minutes, which brings this run to a total of about 5 hours and 35 minutes.
The stream is now over, stay posted to this page to see when we go live next!

So it’s not unusual for people who don’t know the series at all to confuse which character is actually Zelda. Heck, you play as the green tunic dude and the game is called the Legend of Zelda, so natural instincts might lead you to believe that the main characters name is actually Zelda. However, it’s a completely different mistake to refer to Princess Zelda as Princess Link. Well according to Amazon our beloved hero Link is a Princess!
Now perhaps this is a bit too critical of me to rip on Amazon. I mean, it sure seems based on the item description, that this is meant to say Twilight Princess: Link’s Master Sword, but they chose the wrong word to leave out of that long title. Either that, or it was a complete brain cramp and they just failed. Who knows. Go ahead and make a jump to see a larger image of the failure.

So it appears some of the frequenters over at the Lumpy Pumpkin have similar appearances as the group in Telma’s Bar from Twilight Princess. Is this just a complete coincidence or do you think Nintendo deliberately put this in there? Having played through the game multiple times, I can honestly say I never noticed this at all. However, the folks over at Nintendo Everything have put together a side-by-side image comparison of some of these same characters, so you can make the judgement for yourself.
The image you see to the left is a side by side comparison of Auru from Twilight Princess and Rusta from Skyward Sword. I think of all the comparisons, this one looks the most promising, but I think all of them collectively draw the connection more than each individual one. Go ahead and make the jump to see all four large image comparisons.

The topic of this video is Skyward Sword’s similarities to Twilight Princess. Even when I was still in the early portions of Skyward Sword, I had already begun to think that the game was very similar to Twilight Princess, and now that I’ve completed the game I only think so more. I think that, in a way, Skyward Sword is Twilight Princess’ personal sequel, sort of like how Majora’s Mask was a sequel to Ocarina of Time and how Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks were sequels to The Wind Waker.
Of course, Skyward Sword is actually a prequel, and one for the entire series, but I think in terms of how the game is designed, it’s actually, in terms of themes, style, and gameplay, more of a follow-up to Twilight Princess than Ocarina of Time or any of the other games. I go over many of the direct similarities in this video. You can find an embed after the jump or watch it here.

After the announcement of the Wii U, photos started circulating around the internet of what a Zelda game could look like in high definition. Unfortunately, while we know they are working on a game, nothing has been confirmed or released about it. Awhile back Nintendo Everything posted some pictures of what Twilight Princess could have looked like if it was in HD. They felt that even though it did not have the prettiest textures, it still had great art and was overall a great-looking game. Make the jump to see a few of my favorite pictures and head over to Nintendo Everything to see them all.

There has been so much talk about how many hours of gameplay there is in Skyward Sword. Shigeru Miyamoto had initially stated that the game has between 50-100 hours of gameplay and many Zelda fans took that as thinking Skyward Sword would be the biggest Zelda game to date. Yet, 5 years earlier the same 100 Hours was tossed out there for the length of Twilight Princess. So how long are these games? Perhaps the more important question is… how many hours are people playing the game? For every Zelda fan that plays through a new console game in its entirety multiple times, there are dozens of fans who never play further than the first few hours. So where does it usually average out? 48 Hours… at least in the case of Twilight Princess.
The folks over at Coffee With Games have posted some playtime statistics of the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. These statistics come via the Nintendo Channel, so it obviously doesn’t include all hours of play, but rather, just a large sample. Thus the total numbers aren’t too important but the averages do tell a good story. For Twilight Princess, the average Nintendo Wii Console that has run Twilight Princess has played it for 48 hours and 22 minutes. Jump inside to see the chart and more data for Twilight Princess.

YouTube user, PeanutButterGamer has uploaded a video for Zelda month sharing his top ten Legend of Zelda games. Coming in at number ten is Twilight Princess. He says that while it is not a bad game, it’s just not great and does not live up to the standards of other Zelda titles. His two main issues with the game were it tried too hard to be dark and the world was too huge and dull. Some other games that made the list alongside Twilight Princess include Ocarina of Time, Link’s Awakening, Wind Waker, and even Skyward Sword. The question is, where did they fall on the list and what game ultimately came out on top. Make the jump to see the video and all the games that made the cut.

The folks over at The Gaming Bolt have put together a listing of their Top 25 Nintendo Wii Games. The Nintendo Wii has seen 3 Zelda games of some sort. Right at launch we got the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but it wasn’t really a Wii game, as it was more of Nintendo GameCube title that found its way over to the Wii console. Early on in the consoles life cycle we got Link’s Crossbow Training, but this hardly was a true Zelda game as it was a side game meant to push sales of the Wii Zapper. Finally after a long wait, Skyward Sword released earlier this month. So where do these Zelda games fit on the Gaming Bolt’s Top 25 listing? Make the jump to check it out.

Here we are, the final week. A mere five days remain before the release of Skyward Sword, and Zelda Universe’s series 25 Years in 25 Days is drawing to its close, but not before it covers the most recent of Zelda’s console games: Twilight Princess. In 2005, fans were eagerly awaiting the release of Twilight Princess. At E3 the same year fans were given the opportunity to play the demo of the GameCube version. They also got to see a new trailer that showed Midna and Wolf Link of the first time. Twilight Princess would unfortunately get delayed for another year, but luckily for Australia and North America, The Minish Cap had finally been released and fans of these regions would finally get the chance to play. Yesterday’s article focused on how The Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventures completed the Four Sword trilogy. Today’s installment of Zelda Universe’s 25 Years in 25 Days again looks at The Minish Cap but in the form of a personal story of how author, Joshua, changed his views on the game from negative to positive. Read the full article at Zelda Universe and make sure to leave your comments.

Zelda Universe’s 25 Years in 25 Days continues through Zelda history with the year 2004. This was the year that Nintendo announced their newest handheld and newest console, the Nintendo DS and the Wii, at E3. Fans were also shown the first trailer of the new Zelda game that would be coming out on the GameCube. Due to the dislike of the graphics from the previous title, The Wind Waker, many fans were skeptical about this next game. That game went on to become Twilight Princess and it exceeded everyone’s expectations by showing us realistic graphics. But aside from E3, what else happened in 2004? This year also gave us two new games that would complete the Four Sword trilogy, Four Swords Adventures on the GameCube and The Minish Cap on the Game Boy Advance. Be sure to head over to Zelda Universe to read the whole article and to leave your comments.
