Hello readers! Brian here with the fourth installment of “The Best and Worst of Zelda.” This topic has been requested by multiple people, and I thought it deserved some recognition. Remember to comment your ideas for next week! So without further ado, ladies and gentleman, your article. It’s slowly becoming another piece to the Zelda formula; the way Link travels through overworlds seems to be changing by the game, and for no good reason, but as the worlds get bigger…

As I have said in the past I am always on the lookout for new and interesting Zelda related things, but this time I found something fairly creative. A member of the Chicago Improv named Bacon has recreated the rail “L” map of Chicago in the form of the overworld map from A Link to the Past. The picture perfectly recreates the look of the overworld only the various roads are rail lines with rupees representing the stops and each…

Well, my Zelda Dungeon friends, it has finally happened. My brother bought me a copy of Spirit Tracks for Christmas. In other words, I finally got to experience what is easily one of the best soundtracks of all the handheld Zelda games. Now, every Zelda game’s soundtrack tends to be diverse and usually makes it difficult to choose one track that is indisputably better than the rest. With Spirit Tracks that is not quite the case. As anyone who has…

Pretty much anyone who’s played a Zelda game in the last ten years should know what a transportation overworld is. After Ocarina of Time, which introduced the non-essential but compelling Epona, the series as a whole gravitated toward worlds designed around transportation. It started with Majora’s Mask, with sections of the overworld requiring either Epona, Goron Link, or Zora Link. They each offered their own form of transportation that regular Link could not access. Majora’s Mask’s tighter overworld made things…

Well dang, guys! E3’s less than a week away. Only a few days really! Another video, sort of related. This one doesn’t actually specifically talk about Zelda Wii, but rather some things that have been suggested for the Zelda series that a lot of people have been talking about. Some of them have talked about them in Zelda Wii (as is inevitable when discussing future ideas). It seemed appropriate for me to go over them. Some of these are ideas…

One big subject that comes up when talking about the rise (or downfall, depending on how you look at it) of The Legend of Zelda is the concept of magic. Magic is obviously one of the things that defines the Zelda franchise and makes it exciting. Some games were filled with spells, while others made use of mysterious items with arcane powers. Fairies, Wizrobes, maze-like woods, and items that start with the word “magical” are all prominently in Zelda games….

Do you think that the technology in the Zelda series is advancing too quickly? Ever since the first trailer of Spirit Tracks hit just over a year ago, it has seemingly become a hot topic in the Zelda community. In the past two Zelda titles we’ve seen both steamboats and locomotives, neither of which fit the criteria for what classic medieval Zelda is all about. Yusei over at Zelda Temple his recently written an article concerning the topic where she…
