It may have seemed like a slow week for us all, but the Zelda Informer weekly Photoshop Contest is the party that never stops. This week, we’ll put on our science hats and theorize about the evolutionary patterns of a certain winged race. But before that assignment begins, we’ll look back at last week’s contest: Let’s Make Zelda Fabulous

Skyloft is probably one of the best hub towns I’ve ever visited in any game. It’s a happy yet bustling community nestled atop a handful of boulders floating over the clouds, where players are free to mingle with the locals and explore the island’s countless secrets.

In many ways Skyloft is a beautifully crafted environment, but it is also home to abusive relationships, mishandled portrayals of human interactions, and some negative messages for players. There’s a lot of ground to cover here, but let’s get the most obvious bad signal Skyward Sword sends players out of the way first…

When Skyloft was introduced in Skyward Sword there was some speculation about whether or not Skyloft ended up becoming the City in the Sky which acts as the final dungeon in Twilight Princess. At first glance they seem like completely different places and the only reason the connection has been made is because they both hover in the sky. However, YouTube channel wwwwario has taken a closer look and there’s more to connect them than you might expect. See the…

With all the well-deserved hype for Hyrule Warriors, we are being blessed daily with many new images of the game’s contents. With the set we also get tons of new information about the game to enjoy. Hit the jump to see!

Hello dear readers! I’m back this week to discuss another few unwinding areas several of you had mentioned in the comments back in Part I. The areas chosen this week are: Zora’s Domain, Skyloft, The Lumpy Pumpkin, and Lon Lon Ranch. Aside from the numerous temples and mini games throughout the Zelda series, it is also commonly  known for it’s many distinct locations set across Hyrule. Some of which are considerably relaxing and great places to unwind when taking a…

If you’re like me, you owe your love of The Legend of Zelda to Nintendo’s fan-favorite unconventional mascot fighting franchise. The Super Smash Bros. series has included elements from the Zelda series since its first incarnation on the Nintendo 64 in 1999, which featured Link as a playable character. The series’ newest title was officially unveiled for Wii U and 3DS at E3. This version allows players to once again choose Link in their battles, this time with a design…

Sometimes things in video games are backwards. Often they’re intentionally backwards for ironic and comedic effect, and these are usually obvious to the player. Other times, though, situations in games can be backwards by accident, such as this example from Skyward Sword. Alex from Corpse Run Comics seems to do a good job finding these kinds of things in the Zelda series, even if we may have all considered the ideas when we were playing. Hit the jump to read the comic!

Finally, Fi reveals something that is useful to Link. Or, at least something Link is able to exploit. Just because he’s the most courageous hero in all of Hyrule (or Skyloft, as the case may be) doesn’t mean Link is necessarily the most moral. Sometimes he just has to take a break from the adventuring business and try out some other hobbies. So what exactly has Link done this time? And how possibly could Fi have said something actually useful?…
