Theory: The Golden Goddesses

September 20 2015 by Jon Lett

How many fans have asked time and time again about the Goddesses of Hyrule, Din, Nayru, and Farore? Iterations of the mighty beings from the heavens seem to have been dropped from the series, to an extent, by Nintendo. They are only mentioned in a few games, and we know very little about them. YouTuber RMFH, with help from GameOver Jesse, has delved into the Goddesses’ lore, and theorized about their various appearances in the series. Check out the video…

All well-learned Zelda fans know the story of Hyrule’s creation, and by extension, the Golden Goddesses that brought our beloved fantasy world to life thousands of years ago. Interestingly, the Goddesses typically go totally unseen, and almost totally unmentioned, in most of the series, despite their three sacred triangles being so prominent. They have, however been seen in human form a few times, possibly with direct connections to the original gods, but other than that, they remain a mystery. Perhaps…

There’s a certain story within the Zelda universe I’m sure we’re all familiar with: the creation of the world and Triforce. First brought up in Ocarina of Time it tells of how the three golden goddesses Din, Nayru and Farore cultivated the land, and produced the life forms and laws that govern the world. Upon their departure they created the Triforce which could grant the wish of anyone that touched it. The goddesses watch over Hyrule and have protected it…

As this article series continues, we examine yet another handheld title. One of a pair, actually. Many people like to classify the Oracle games as one large game, which is understandable, but I prefer to think of them as separate adventures that happen to link together. One is a sequel to the other, and it is up to the player to choose which comes first, sort of like a “Create your own adventure” book. For the purposes of this series,…

Welcome to today’s Fanart Spotlight. I usually try to find art by artists who have not been featured before so that as many different art styles and interpretations as possible can be found here on the front page. However, Karlen Tam, whom Knowlee wrote about just last month, has made another amazing contribution to the Zelda community worthy of a Fanart Spotlight, with this digital art piece appropriately named Golden Goddesses. This picture must be seen at full size for…

Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on “The Oracles of Hyrule” by KazuTaka51 on Deviantart. In the artwork it showcases the three Oracles from the Oracle of Ages and Seasons Zelda games. Each oracle is surrounded by their trademark color and they have small Triforces floating all around them. They each are all standing on a symbol of the Triforce which is glowing their trademark color; Din being red, Nayru being blue, and Farore being green. I will be showing each…

Fi: What Is She?

November 05 2011 by Mases Hagopian

Fi. The amount of speculation about her has been high ever since she was first seen in leaked concept art from E3 2009, and it has done nothing but rocket skyward since then. It’s been suggested that she could be the Fairy Queen from The Wind Waker. People have theorized about how the features on her figure resemble that of the Master Sword, saying that she could somehow be a part of the sword itself. It’s even been proposed that…

Mailbag time, guys! And man, they just keep getting bigger! 8 questions, then 10 questions, now 12! Yes, 12! I wouldn’t count on it always being this much, though. It was kind of a matter of the questions I got this time. The questions answered and their timestamps: (00:06) – What is your favorite dungeon and why? (00:44) – Is there a Zelda game you didn’t even like? (01:11) – What aspects of TWW did you like the most? (02:23)…
