Zelda Universe is holding auditions for its next film project, Skyward Sword: The Movie. This project is similar to ZU’s Hyrule Warriors: The Movie, in that Lead Media Editor Alexander Trevino is auditioning voice actors who will dub over all of the cutscenes from Skyward Sword and these will be strung together into a full length film. Auditions are open to the public from June 25th through July 9th, and audition tapes can be sent in here. For more details,…

Zelda Universe’s Hyrule Warriors: The Movie is back with Act II, and this time we pick up during the timeline split to continue our adventure. If this is your first time seeing the Hyrule Warriors Movie, let me give you a little background. Zelda Universe has hired actors to portray Hyrule Warriors as a voice acted movie, giving more depth and life to its unique storyline. If you have yet to see Act I, you can check it out here….

Almost all of us have heard of the new Legend of Zelda Netflix TV series being developed. It’s obvious a spin-off movie using the same actors and storyline is possible as well. Who could produce such a movie, let alone produce it well? While discussing a Disney/Zelda affiliation with the other Zelda Informer staff members, most us agreed that Disney should leave Zelda alone.

Alas, there was one staff member who actually entertained this idea. Paul, the creator of the Hey, Look, Listen: Analyzing Handholding audits…

Both Zac Efron and Dave Franco, two stars of the recent movie Bad Neighbors, recently did an interview with Tech Bomb that side-tracked a little bit into the world of Zelda. Even though the movie had absolutely nothing to do with our favorite franchise, it turns out these two actors are, like many, fans of the series. Hit the jump to see the interview!

Who hasn’t thought about the idea of a movie based on The Legend of Zelda? With how many games there are in the series there would be plenty of material to create an amazing fantasy adventure. A lot of game series have been turned into movies in the past; Silent Hill was pretty good, Mortal Kombat was great and Super Mario Bros. was… quite different from the games! There have been several attempts by fans to create a Zelda movie…

The topic of whether a Zelda movie would be a positive or negative idea is a major subject. I have seen more debates and threads on this topic than it’s possible to read. When I examined critically the process of creating a Zelda movie I quickly discovered that more questions were raised, rather than answered. Problems arose regarding decisions on plot sequence, length, format, budget, and many other incidentals. Walking through the process of making a hypothetical movie has allowed…

Is there anything you can’t find on Etsy? I would honestly like to know, because it seems that every day we discover something spectacular, original, and just overall creative. Though we’ve seen “movie poster” style fan artwork inspired by video games, and particularly the Zelda series. I would even go as far as saying that some of the fan artwork is much better than official artwork, though both have their respective purposes. Hit the jump to see what we have…

The notion of a Zelda movie has been made before, and in late 2010 a full-length Zelda fan-made movie was released in theaters briefly, but was promptly shifted to the internet and then shut down completely by Nintendo in an attempt to protect the franchise’s identity from the contaminating hands of fans who may misrepresent the identity of Zelda. So it has been attempted before, but not by professional filmmakers. IGN’s 2008 April Fools video was a trailer for a…

The idea of a film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda series has been tossed around numerous times throughout the years, though to date no official adaptation has been produced, and many fan-based adaptations have been met with mixed reactions. To many, the idea of a Zelda film is very foreign, as the core tenets of the Zelda series do not lend themselves well to the cinema upon first glance. Looking closer, however, there are a number of interesting parallels…

The Internet is always rife with videos and thoughts of what a movie based on the Zelda franchise (especially of the live-action variety) would look like. As we’ve seen, many are extraordinary and some of us would love to see that work made into a full motion picture. But what would a cross between Zelda and Michael Bay warrant? Many feel his Transformers movies missed the mark on what made the original cartoon so much fun, and people are already…
