The beauty of The Legend of Zelda can be brought to life in several amazing ways. One such example is in the work of ThatNerdyWoodGuy, who has constructed several great Zelda wood art pieces over the last year. The artist recently shared a gallery of these pieces, showing off wood art inspired by Wind Waker and Majora’s Mask

Welcome to yet another Miiverse Highlights: Zelda Informer‘s Thursday Weekly Feature! Last week we held a #WeeklyPoll in which we asked you all what your two favorite characters were from The Wind Waker. Now that the week has passed, it’s my duty to take the most-voted character and find the absolute best art and screenshots I can find of them in all of Miiverse…

Hello everyone! This is Zelda Artist Exposition, an editorial series where I feature exceptional artists. In case you have not read these before, although I have done many of them, suggestions for artists are always welcome. The only criteria is that they need to have at least three Zelda-related pieces, and you need to think they are a fantastic artist. The goal of these posts is to spread the joy of art wherever possible and to expose artists to a…

Hello all and here again is another edition of “Zelda Artist Exposition”. I have some good news before we jump in (the news is pretty neutral actually, just depends on how you view it). I will now be writing these biweekly for Saturdays from now on. Firstly, this is good because I am one for order, reason, scheduling, and whatnot, and secondly, since these will be coming out more frequently, my list of artists to write about will be shrinking…

I already wrote in my last Favorite Zelda Moments editorial — where I discussed the flooded Hyrule — about how I feel The Wind Waker managed better epic presentation and cooler storytelling than most other Zelda games, including Twilight Princess, which is usually the game you’d see praised for cinematic presentation. This week I’d like to discuss a few more related moments: The meetings with the deceased Sages of Hyrule. Now, The Wind Waker is usually considered a pretty cartoony…

Well… it’s time for me to review this dungeon, I suppose… You know, Zelda has an odd history with wind or air themed dungeons. I hear there was going to be one in Ocarina of Time before it was cut, and of course Majora’s Mask didn’t have any dungeons dedicated to such a theme, but then The Wind Waker came along and introduced the Wind Temple. And it was a must, wasn’t it? I have no doubt that the Earth…

Today’s Fanart Spotlight is a beautiful statue by artist Ingtron. Based on the digital piece “The Wind Waker: Forbidden Woods” by the very talented fellow fanart artist Purrdemonium who is known for their cel-shading and The Wind Waker style emulation. Ingtron does a masterful job of bringing their Hero of Winds fanart to life. The artist first sculpted the work in a basic gray clay in the work in progress image that you can see right after the jump.

The title screen for any video game is very important. With just a few seconds and a blinking “Press Start,” developers have a chance to draw players into their game worlds and get them ready for the hours to come. Over the years the Zelda series has featured numerous well-made title screens, from the iconic music and vistas of the original Legend of Zelda and Ocarina of Time to the chilling view of Termina’s doom that marked Majora’s Mask. Overall,…

Today’s Fanart spotlight is a digital illustration from the incredibly talented UK born artist, Trudi Castle. She has worked on an impressive number of projects, including Halo Anniversary, the Crysis series, and a Lord of the Rings card game. It is quite a treat for the Zelda fandom when a prolific artist produces a piece of Zelda artwork, and this is certainly no exception with Trudi’s re-imagining of The Wind Waker’s beloved sage, Makar. The artist describes this as a…
