Anybody who’s ever wanted to obtain a Kokiri Sword without the need to dodge rolling boulders can get their chance to do so for the next four days!

Brian Rice, who launched a tremendously successful Kickstarter campaign in July to make Deku Shields, has launched a new Kickstarter project to fund the production of Kokiri Swords for backers. The campaign has already surpassed its modest $400 goal twice over…

Few Zelda games, or games in general, have made as big of an impact on the world of gaming as Ocarina of Time. While all of the areas in this game are memorable, intriguing and challenging, none are more important than Kokiri Forest. This wooded village might seem like a wonderful place in which to live, especially since the game sets it up to be nothing short of an in-game utopia. However, the personal fairies and the lack of any…

Among the information we have about the story of A Link Between worlds, we know that the clown-like villain Yuga is capturing Sages and turning them into paintings, presumably whining when confronted by Link about how no one understands his art. We’ve seen all seven Sages, and we know they retain their elemental affiliations. But who are some of these people? There’s the obvious ones, of course. The Leader of the Sages is Zelda. The Shadow Sage is Impa. The…

Is Navi really a pest?

September 21 2013 by Parker

“Hey, Listen!” Who could have predicted in 1998 that these two innocent words, articulated by a winged ball of light, would become the bane of countless Zelda fans? Yet besides Kaepora Gaebora’s notoriously long-winded speeches, the infamous catchphrase of Link’s fairy companion Navi is probably the most common points of criticism leveled at Ocarina of Time. Detractors claim her often-repeated exclamations are unbearable; her personality obnoxious. Not even Tingle is demonized to such an extent. When faced with such vocal and ingrained…

There are many species in the Zelda series which have unknown methods of reproduction. Three of these species have picked at my curiosity in particular, the Gorons, the Deku race, and the Kokiri. There are many theories as to how Gorons reproduce, and none for the Deku race or the Kokiri. I shall go through these theories, suggest my own, and at the end, you can tell me the races in the Zelda series which you have always wondered about,…

Most Zelda fans were introduced to the world of Hyrule by starting off in the gorgeous Kokiri Forest; at least I was. I’m sure plenty of readers remember slotting in the masterpiece of Ocarina of Time into their Nintendo 64 console and, for the first time, control Link in a full 3D environment. Kokiri Forest was the perfect introduction for newcomers and old-timers to start a Zelda adventure because of its spacious, beautiful environment, joyous themes of its inhabitants, the…

Within a recent game by EA titled Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning there are a couple enemies encountered within the forest that bear a symbol that might just be familiar to Zelda fans. The enemies called Boggarts wear a curious wooden mask on their faces with a painted swirl upon it that somewhat resembles the Kokiri symbol of Ocarina of Time. A little more closely they could be said to resemble the Deku Shield with the red design on a wooden…

Hey guys, got a new mailbag, Curiosity Shop #072. This time it’s again largely Skyward Sword-focused, but it does branch out a bit and I do talk about a handful of other things around the main topic. Hope you guys enjoy! Video embed after the jump. Questions and timestamps: (00:08) – Do you think the Boomerang will appear SS? (01:16) – Why don’t people believe that Rauru is Kaepora Gaebora? (02:28) – Do you think the Gerudo will appear in…

Our friends over at LegendZelda.net have just reached their first birthday. After just 12 months online, their website has grown to become one of the most well known Zelda sites in the community and much of it has to do with their frequent article posting. In their most recent article, the author speaks about 5 things in Zelda that don’t make sense. You can check out the article by clicking here. Some of the things on his list really make…
