Whether you are a bored child needing something to doodle in math class, or an experienced artisan needing something to use as a new project design, the symbols and motifs of the Zelda series always seem to inspire artistic recreation in various forms. If you remember the designs on Skyward Sword’s gate of time, and on the cover of Hyrule Historia, you will recognize it on imgur user trufflesmcgoo‘s custom woodburned clock. The best part is, you can buy laser-burned…

The beauty of The Legend of Zelda can be brought to life in several amazing ways. One such example is in the work of ThatNerdyWoodGuy, who has constructed several great Zelda wood art pieces over the last year. The artist recently shared a gallery of these pieces, showing off wood art inspired by Wind Waker and Majora’s Mask

Majora’s Mask has inspired many artistic fans to undertake projects based around the game’s iconic masks. Last week, German artist Christiane Göhring launched a Kickstarter campaign for her amazing Majora’s Mask replicas. With a goal of about $2,246 USD, the campaign will fund the creation of Majora’s Mask replicas that will be sent to backers. Different reward tiers will determine the type of replica each backer will receive, from fully finished masks, to unpainted masks, to raw casts for backers to make their own masks…

We’ve all seen it. Even if you’re only slightly involved in anything related to gaming, you’ll have come across at least one custom console or controller on the internet. Strangely, these amazingly detailed objects always seem so distant, because you know you’ll probably never make one yourself, or you’re never going to commision or even see one of these amazing works. Often the only thing we as fans can do is stare at our screens in awe, or leave a comment praising the artist for the incredible work they’ve done.

Back in March, while visiting one of Belgium’s otaku and geek conventions called ‘Made in Asia,’ I got the chance to see several works by graphic designer and creator of custom consoles, Vadu Amka. We’ve covered her work before, and it was an amazing experience to see two of the Zelda…

As a fan, I can never get enough speed painting videos inspired by the Zelda series. A few days ago, artist Rootis Tabootus uploaded a speed painting video for a Majora’s Mask piece onto YouTube. The painting itself has a striking expressionist feel to it, and the video reveals how the artist’s original design transformed into the impressive final product…

There are a lot of creative Zelda fans out there looking to help others start on some interesting, artsy projects. A few days ago, Imgur user darrellacoustic posted some images of two awesome, custom-made bottled fairies that light up in the dark. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the user also uploaded step-by-step image instructions for other fans that feel the desire to create their own fairy in a bottle…

There have been a lot of really cool and unique Zelda art projects lately. In just the past week, we’ve seen such masterpieces as a Majora’s Mask made with a chainsaw and a Zelda-inspired customized Gamecube. To add to all the awesome art floating around, Reddit user gmhafker has recently shown off his stunning Zelda laser cutting project. The piece is both beautiful and highly-detailed, well worth a look by any fan…

Tumblr user Shattered-Earth has left both Zelda and Final Fantasy fans in awe with her beautiful renditions of Zelda logos, with a Final Fantasy twist…

If Christmas were celebrated in Hyrule, what sort of gifts do you reckon Link would receive? Perhaps he’d get another tunic, a shiny new hookshot, or maybe a new pair of socks! Whatever the gift he’d probably just be glad he doesn’t have to go adventuring to acquire his new items. Instead he can just find his presents under the tree and open them while sipping his morning coffee. That is unless his wife happens to be Imgur user MangaGurl….

Every once in awhile I enjoy looking at alternative art. To me, this means art that takes someone out of it’s normal sphere of reference and does something original with it. When it comes to the Zelda series there is no shortage of fan artists, but thanks to the fine folks over at Dorkly we have a nice collection of 34 alternative styled art pieces to show off. Some you may have seen before, while others may be entirely new to you. Either way they are all extremely different in one way or another…
