Hello fellow music lovers and welcome back to another entry of our (slightly belated) Wednesday Weekly Feature: The Weekly Music Spotlight! Every week, we showcase a YouTube artist or two or takes tunes from The Legend of Zelda and makes them their own, whether it be through arrangements, covers, or any other kind of altered take on the source material.  Last week, we took a listen to a composer who favors powerful, moving orchestrations, so this week, we’ll take a look at some lighter fare…

Reddit user Cowdermon went to his local GameStop cosplaying as Skull Kid for the release of Majora’s Mask 3D. This was Cowdemon’s first attempt at cosplay, but he seems to have either a natural talent or a true devotion to The Legend of Zelda because as you’ll see the cosplay is gorgeous. In fact, it was so good that the staff members at Cowdermon’s GameStop asked him to do a little promoting while he was there!

As part of our ongoing efforts to get involved with the talented and passionate members of the Zelda fanbase, this week, we have an interview with an artist who we’ve featured several times in the past and is one of my personal favorites.  Mr. Adam Scythe, unlike many other artists out there, chooses to feature much of the behind-the-scenes processes that go into creating his works, posting time-lapse videos of his creation process – set to beautiful music, no less.  Adam provided me with an opportunity to chat with him…

Recently, a Tumblr artist know as “PencilTest” was discovered working on a Zelda-inspired fan-film.  The actual video cannot be viewed yet as it has not been published, but he has put out some animated GIFs of his Zelda work that have been created in Maya, After Effects, and Photoshop. To make the video he takes real footage and adds in the little Minish Cap style Link into it, which makes for some outstanding and beautiful works of art. Hit the…

There are loads of important questions that are yet to be answered; what’s the meaning of life? Is there a ‘correct’ religion? What can we do as individuals that would benefit mankind? And, most importantly, who would win in a fight between Link and Mario? It’s a question that is asked in many different forms, who would win between Batman and Spider-Man? Wolverine and Superman? The possibilities are endless and there are numerous videos showing epic duels between characters but…

Anyone who has played Ocarina of Time can probably hum the iconic theme for the Lost Woods off the top of their head. But how many people out their have seen it performed in a real life forest? Even if you have, chances are it wasn’t being played on an accordion by a bearded man riding a unicycle. Well now you finally get to witness that sight, courtesy of the internet.

Welcome one and all to another entry in my features series: Zelda Artist Exposition. By now you probably know what it is about, but if not, here is a refresher. Each post focuses on one amazing Zelda fan artist for the goal of spreading art and love through the Zelda community. As always, suggestions for an artist to write about are encouraged. I have a fairly long list of individuals to write about from browsing deviantART, but I’ll run out…

YouTube Pianist PL511 has become rather famous for their beautiful video game remixes and other piano songs. Covering music from numerous series including Zelda, Halo, Pokémon, and Kingdom Hearts, they have never failed to make music that is truly gorgeous. Recently, after over half a year without any Zelda covers, Pl511 has graced us with another Zelda medley – and it could be one of their best yet. Titled “Zelda’s Lament,” this wonderful tune combines many favorite tunes from throughout…
