Ubisoft Montreal’s Jean Guesdon, Brand Content Manager of the Assassin’s Creed series, was in a interview with EDGE about the development of the latest series installment, Black Flag. In the interview, EDGE mentioned how much they loved sailing and exploring in The Wind Waker, and when asked how it helped to “inform Black Flag’s design”, Guesdon gave an interesting response. This November A Link Between Worlds is releasing, 22 years after A Link to the Past. The lead designer for the new 3DS title, Eiji Aonuma, didn’t start working on Zelda games until Ocarina of Time, but he cites A Link to the Past as his greatest influence for all of the Zelda games he’s worked on. Sometimes things in video games are backwards. Often they’re intentionally backwards for ironic and comedic effect, and these are usually obvious to the player. Other times, though, situations in games can be backwards by accident, such as this example from Skyward Sword. Alex from Corpse Run Comics seems to do a good job finding these kinds of things in the Zelda series, even if we may have all considered the ideas when we were playing. Hit the jump to read the comic!
