One of the explicit goals of Hyrule Warriors was to expose those from both sides of the Zelda x Dynasty Warriors fanbase to a game series they may have not experienced.  Judging by the number of Zelda fans who experienced and enjoyed the title, it seems safe to say that this did successfully get them to try out the Dynasty Warriors franchise.  While we don’t have specific numbers, the benefits Koei Tecmo enjoyed seem to be rather pronounced, and they may help revitalize their franchise.  In an interview with UK publication MCV…

Hyrule Warriors‘ next DLC pack, the Boss Pack, is set for release on March 12th here in the United States. The DLC has already been released in Europe and Japan, so some fans are demolishing foes as Beast Ganon in the new “Ganon’s Fury” game mode as we speak. Japanese Entertainment has recently released some gameplay footage of this new mode on YouTube, and it would seem Koei Tecmo wasn’t lying when they said players can “rain chaos and destruction upon the battlefield” as Ganon…

It’s been known for a while that Ganon will be playable in the newest DLC for Hyrule Warriors, the Boss Pack. Little did we know there would be a second new character! Luckily, YouTube user moccos-tan Isedelica has uploaded footage of this new playable character in action.

Any guesses on who it is? No, unfortunately it is not Skull Kid. It is, in fact, a giant Cucco. That’s right, you can now trample through enemies like no tomorrow with a monstrous Cucco…

For those unaware, there exists a glitch in Hyrule Warriors that will instantly reward you with the maximum amount of rupees that can be held at any one time. This is a very interesting glitch that many players want to take advantage of, because, as you may or may not be aware, you can level up all your characters to the max level of your highest level character simply by paying rupees. This can get extremely expensive, especially as they have been consistently releasing new characters along the way…

Hyrule Warriors‘ final piece of announced DLC, titled the Boss Pack, has released in both Europe and Japan. It will arrive here in the United States on March 12th. In celebration of the release, there is a brand new launch trailer, which shows off the new Boss mode and Ganon as a playable character. Arguably the best part of the trailer comes right at the end where Ganon uses a finisher on King Dodongo with an epic trident strike. Plus there is some cute post-trailer 8-bit action, but I’ll let you watch first…

Haven’t got your hands on a copy of Hyrule Warriors yet? Not to fear: Amazon has got you covered as they are currently offering the Dynasty Warriors spinoff for $10-$11 cheaper than the usual price…

Hyrule Warriors, a Zelda title loved by many, has recently been classified as Koei Techmo’s most successful game. Before Hyrule Warriors’ release, fans were in an uproar because it was not going to be canon. I was slightly peeved at this fact, but now having owned the game myself I understand why Nintendo made this choice…

Although Hyrule Warrior sold much better than Nintendo anticipated, it isn’t the first game to be spawned from the Dynasty Warriors franchise. Its sister series, Samurai Warriros, has had numerous games released across multiple platforms since its first game back in 2004. The latest entry, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 for the 3DS, will be featuring costumes for Link and Zelda from Hyrule Warriors. Take the jumo for more info!

Hyrule Warriors is by no means a Legend of Zelda game and in no way did it ever try to be, that’s for sure. Bringing the classic tactical gameplay of Dynasty Warriors with a Zelda theme, Hyrule Warriors provides something new and fresh, but not something that encapsulates the Zelda essence of adventure and exploration.

Although

Hyrule Warriors cannot (and never intended to) act as a bridge tiding gamers over to Zelda Wii U, it does have a few things to say about the upcoming full-blown Zelda adventure and the direction it may take. Six things in fact.
