I’m not exactly sure why Tingle is in The Legend of Zelda. He’s strange, that’s for sure, and for this, as far as NPCs go in video games he’s quite the famous character. Since appearing in Majora’s Mask he’s made a few other appearances, notably in The Wind Waker, where he was imprisoned for being a troublemaker. He’s a bit more useful in The Wind Waker, but still definitely his odd self. Since The Wind Waker HD’s release, Tingle is again topical, so Awkward…

Ah, compases. Such great technology- allows us to find all of the treasure chests in the dungeon. Applicable to our lives, and used heavily by all of the great adventurers. Finding the New World was really a matter of finding treasure. In fact, as players of Zelda games, aren’t we adventurers too? Of course we are! So grab the nearest compass, find the jump, and hit it to read the treasure inside!

This week on Monday Comic Corner we have another comic from Awkward Zombie! This time it’s Spirit Tracks comic, but it also features one of our absolute favorite characters in all of the Zelda series. He’s always got the cheeriest mood and the most welcoming smile. Can you guess who it is? Hit the jump to read!

Sometimes it’s the simple humor in comics that makes them great. We love Magical Game TIme’s messages and detailed art style. His animations are stellar and capturing. But for that quick chuckle nothing beats a quick comic. Bill Watterson, author of Calvin and Hobbes once stated something along the lines that a joke can save bad artwork, and artwork can save a bad joke. And in this case, one of those is demonstrated. Hit the jump to read!

This week on Monday Comic corner we have our first comic from AWKWARD ZOMBIE. Not only that, but, as you might have guessed from the title, this comic specifically features content from Oracle of Seasons, which isn’t talked about too often when Zelda is mentioned. I’m not exactly sure why this is, but it’s most likely because the handheld Zelda games just aren’t played as often as the “big” console titles, like Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. But without further ado, hit…

Awkward Zombie: Dedli

December 03 2012 by Kyle

What measure is a non-playable character? Are they just as valuable as Link himself, or are they as good as Moblin fodder? For that matter, how important are pictographs? Once again, Katie Tiedrich deconstructs the quirks of the Zelda series in her newest comic. As Tiedrich has noted, she has been playing through Wind Waker, hence the large volume of Wind Waker strips as of late. You can see it if you make like Mario and hit the jump.

“And sometimes he just has a rough day” says Katie Tiedrich in the blurb beneath her newest comic. For several years now, Tiedrich has worked on the webcomic Awkward Zombie, parodying anything from video games, movies, video games, books, video games, her day-to-day life, and video games! The Zelda series is clearly one of her favorites, as she’s posted several comics based on Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and most recently Wind Waker. The latest of these Wind Waker jokes parodies…

Zelda logic. It’s something we’ve all come to know and love as fans of the series, and what better way to celebrate it than with a comic? Awkward Zombie has developed a comic that is fairly reminiscent of a previous one they created that illustrates the so-called logic of the LoZ series. While the other comic was centered around the Hover Boots from Ocarina of Time, this one focuses on the Iron Boots. If you’re interested in seeing the comic,…

Tread Lightly Comic

March 30 2012 by Ally Paige

In Ocarina of Time, the Hover Boots are a pretty snazzy item. Who wouldn’t want to be able to hover over thin air, even for just a few seconds? Besides the fact that they’re a fantasy item, do they make any sense? The folks over at Awkward Zombie don’t believe so. What exactly stops them from floating away when Link gets them out of the treasure chest? The world may never know. Make the jump and check out the comic…

Sometimes, it can seem like Link is invulnerable. Depending on the capabilities of the enemies that he faces, he doesn’t usually show any sign of injury until he’s down to his last couple hearts. He can fall off cliffs, be beaten by clubs, or even stung by bees, but the only thing to indicate that he’s hurt is his heart count and sometimes a grunt or two. From all the abuse that Link takes, how does his equipment stay in…
