In this Zelda Collection video I take a look at a figurine dating all the way back to 1989. This is an officially licensed Link figurine from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. It’s rather simplistic and Link surely does have a rather unique look. His face in particular is quite strange with his gazing eyes.
This figurine was part of a set of 12, including 9 Super Mario figurines and 2 Punch-Out figurines. It looks like the Legend of Zelda series got the short end of the stick having only 1 of the 12 released figurines. While it is a tad bit rare, you will still see this item on occasion on ebay. Since it isn’t available all the time, the price ranges vary, going for as low as $20 and as high as $60. Go ahead and make the jump to check out the collection video.
WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes is a huge Legend of Zelda fan and he recently shared his thoughts on what his fondest memory of Zelda series is. Cody Rhodes is known to be a huge Zelda fan and at one point during his wrestling career, he even wore boots that had the triforce symbol on them, as you can see in the image to the left.
His fondest memory is one that really is quite hilarious. Despite the fact that he is a huge Legend of Zelda fan, he couldn’t properly name Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. However, his fondest memory does come from this title. The video was posted over at the official Nintendo YouTube Channel and you can find it embedded below after the jump.
The folks over at Official Nintendo Magazine have posted several tips for the two NES Zelda titles that have recently become available as part of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program. In total they give 5 tips, 3 of them for the original Legend of Zelda, and 2 of them for the Adventure of Link. One of the Legend of Zelda tips that they gave is extremely useful and one that I would use quite often back in the day when the game gave me trouble. It’s still useful for veterans trying to do minimalist or 3-heart challenges. Here is what ONM wrote.
If you’re having trouble getting through screens packed with respawning enemies, take the time to kill all of them bar one. Now when you next pass through that area, only that last enemy will appear instead of a whole new batch of bad guys, making your life much easier.
Nintendo has revealed the list of all the NES games that will be included in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program and there is good news for Zelda fans. Both the original Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link are on this list!
This truly is the year of Zelda. We’ve gotten an Ocarina of Time 3D remake for the 3DS, the upcoming release of Skyward Sword for the Wii, a free download of Four Swords for the Nintendo DSi, Link’s Awakening released for the Nintendo 3DS eshop, and now the Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link will be an the ambassadors program. It’s a good year to be a Zelda fan. The full listing of all the NES games in the program can be seen after the jump.
Brentalfloss is an established YouTuber who is well known for taking old video games and putting lyrics to their music. A little over a year ago, Brentalfloss released a video for the original Legend of Zelda and it was such a hit that fans have been craving for a sequel ever since. Well, that day has come as Brentalfloss has created another Zelda music video, conveniently titled What if Zelda II had lyrics. You can watch the video embedded below. (Warning: There is some explicit lyrics and sexual references throughout the video).
The folks over at GameSpite.net have put together another article, this time looking back at Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. A few weeks ago they looked back at the original Legend of Zelda and they had some great things to say. However, for the Adventure of Link, it’s a different story.
A lot of resentment toward the game is directed at the three lives and experience reset system, which don’t mesh well with dungeons full of life-stealing pits and deadly Iron Knuckles, but that’s more a modern complaint about the limits of late ’80s game design than anything else.
The Legend of Zelda is the game series that we all know and love. Almost all of us hold the Super Mario series very close to us as well. For a lot of us, Super Mario 64 was our very first video game ever. I love them both, but has the Zelda series made decisions so that the games are stuck at a standstill? Read more…
These days we seem to be hearing more and more talk about the Zelda series getting stale. Nintendo reusing the same structure in each game is a good example. And I don’t just mean the game in general (collect three items, plot twist, collect some more items, final showdown). I’m also talking about specific elements, such as dungeon structure. Even other elements of the series have been reused again and again. Villains, items, plot twists, kidnappings, magical objects.
Some people argue that these elements are classic, and that they make the series what it is. I tend to agree with this for the most part, but I also agree with the other side: That the series really needs some freshness, But most of the time I hear people talking about radical changes. Switching up the gameplay entirely, adding more mature themes, making fundamental changes to Link’s character, etc.. I find that all a bit extreme, not to mention some of those things would be bad moves all around in my opinion.
But why don’t we just bring back the old qualities that have been lost since Ocarina of Time? Read more…
Ever wonder what the Legend of Zelda would look like if it was in first person mode? Ever wonder what the classic NES Zelda titles would look like if they were remade in 3d? Well now you can put your wonders to the test as a fan has recreated Adventure of Link in 3D. You can head on over to his blog and you may need to quickly install a plugin that will allow you to play.
The game is a 3d rendition of Adventure of Link that combines elements of both the first two Zelda titles. It isn’t an exact replica of Adventure of Link and you will see familiar looking caves from the original Legend of Zelda. I have to say, the graphics were done quite well as some of the enemies really look impressive. I only played for about 10 minutes and I got game over before I made it to the first Palace. (I died by falling into the water three times after jumping across ledges and being hit by 3d floating bubbles). In the early going you can see several enemies such as lowders, bits, bots, and geldarms.
It’s definitely interesting to say the least and if I wasn’t getting motion sickness, I probably would have continued. You can view additional screenshots after the jump. Be sure to head on over and try out Adventure of Link in 3D and then let us know what you think by posting in the comments below! Read more…
The video embedded to the right is a couple months old but I just happened to come across is just today. It is created by The Adventures Of Duane & BrandO, who also created a Legend of Zelda Rap about a month ago.
A word of warning, the song does contain some language that isn’t appropriate for everybody, but it’s all for good fun. I enjoyed the video much more so than the Legend of Zelda rap they put together a month and I thought they made some hilarious comments throughout the video. If you want to get nit picky there are a few things wrong with the video, such as the video labeling Link as the Hero of Time in Adventure of Link, which he isn’t. Other then that, just take it for what it is, a hilarious rap variation of a great Zelda game. Let us know what you think about the video by posting in the comments below.
Chapter 2 of the Adventure of Link Video Walkthrough has been uploaded to the Zelda Dungeon YouTube Account. This is the longest chapter in the entire game as it covers Link’s journey through three different towns, Death Mountain, and then finishes off at the second palace of the game. It is broken up into five videos with the first one embedded to your right. You can check out all five sections be clicking the links below.
Be sure to subscribe to the Zelda Dungeon YouTube Channel, as we will be making daily updates from now until the completion of the walkthrough. With daily uploads, the walkthrough should be completed within the next two weeks, so be sure to be on the look out for it. Also, for those of you wondering, the Twilight Princess Video Guide is currently being redone in much higher quality. Videos should start popping up for that in just a couple months and then it too will have daily uploads from the beginning to the end of the game. We’ll post here at Zelda Dungeon when full chapters are available, but if you’d like to see them on a day to day basis, then check out and subscribe to the YouTube Channel.
After what seems like forever, work on the Adventure of Link Video Walkthrough has resumed. The entire video has been recorded already, but I am in the process of finishing up some of the audio commentary for the rest of the chapters. I will be uploading daily videos over at our YouTube channel from now until the completion of the guide in a couple weeks. Chapter 1 of the video walkthrough is now online and it is broken up into two portions. The first part covers everything up until the entrance of Parapa Palace while part two covers the palace itself.
We’ve got several other video walkthroughs in the works and they should be popping up very frequently over the next few months. Our long awaited Twilight Princess video walkthrough is being completely redone as we now have the ability to record some much higher quality video from the Nintendo Wii. We’ve got a few other projects underway and you should expect to see them announced in just a couple weeks. For now, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel so you can get the latest videos!
Hello everyone. I know I vanished right after I finished Link’s Awakening, but I have already moved onto my next project, in style. The entire Adventure of Link section has been remade with new pages and pretty artwork for your viewing pleasure. Check it out!
Today I’ve gone ahead and updated our Nintendo Power Archive collection adding two new magazines with all the Zelda references that there are. We now have the first 8 issues available in our Zelda Publications area of the site.
The first 8 issues of Nintendo Power each had some Zelda references with at least 7 of them having specific material dedicated to the games in the form of secrets revealed, strategy guides, a comic strip, etc… If you’re an old school gamer like myself, it really has a nostalgic feel to it when you glimpse through these old magazines.

The image to your left is the background image and it was once again created by staff member Steve. However, the original background image was created by Melora of History of Hyrule. For those of you that are YouTube subscribers, you might have noticed that the entire soundtrack was uploaded, removed, and then re-uploaded. It turns out that we completely missed the fact that the legendary Koji Kondo was NOT the composer for the music for Adventure of Link and we incorrectly labeled that the first time around. The correct composer is the much less known Akito Nakatsuka. Hope you guys enjoy the music and be sure to check back for more music in the near future. We are currently looking into completely revamping how we currently offer and display our music soundtracks and downloads and that should be popping up in the next few weeks.
Reminder – With music the hot topic right now, I want to remind you all that tomorrow we will be hosting a LIVE stream right here at the site where we will be counting down the Zelda Dungeon Top 25 Zelda Songs! The stream will begin at roughly 5pm US Central Time. A video will be embedded right here on the site along with an embedded chat room right next to it where you can interact with us. Following the countdown we will have a live stream of the Adventure of Link. It’s sure to be a fun day and I look forward to broadcasting. Hope to see you there. Read more…
