Retro downgrade covers are one of the coolest things to hear when it comes to video game music. What it basically boils down to is taking a well-established song and converting into something that we would have heard 30 years ago on things like an Nintendo Entertainment System. The one we’re looking at today takes Zelda music and throws it into the era of earlier Zelda music.

This recent video from 8-Bit remix artist Loeder takes the Shop Theme from Ocarina of Time and converts it into something you would have heard when playing Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. It becomes surreal when listening to this remix because it feels like it belongs in any of the towns you visit in Zelda II, despite not being in the original game at all. Other games Loeder’s done 8-Bit covers for include Splatoon, Super Mario Odyssey, Castlevania, Super Metroid, and so much more.

What do you think of this 8-Bit cover? Will you be checking anymore of Loeder’s work? Let us know in the comments below.
