The Wind Waker HD Now Sold Without Gold Background

If you haven’t been in your local gaming stores lately, soon you will begin to notice a difference in the covers of the Wind Waker HD for Wii U. It appears that the game’s background is now being printed in a plain blue cover similar to that of the Japan version. Twitter user MihaelMELLO_K shared an image of the two different covers with the caption “Excuse me but when did NoA start printing 2 different WW covers???”.

Within the thread on Twitter, there have been a number of speculations about whether or not it was just the Japanese version of the game or a pre-owned game that needed a new cover after being traded in. MiahealMELLO_K had confirmed that both games, in the image shared below, were both brand new. One Twitter user by the name of TheFlandy commented with “can confirm I spotted this at my local Best Buy in Southern California as well”.
