One thing that makes The Legend of Zelda special is how it connected with many of us over the years on an emotional level. Through the good times, through the bad times, for many The Legend of Zelda was always there. I, unfortunately, grew up to understand a bit of what this girl was going through. Being singled out and made fun of at school. An outcast. Coming home to parents constantly fighting (thankfully now that I’m 26 and my sister is in college, they have finally stopped fighting).

Through it all, The Legend of Zelda was my “Escape”. Sure, I play the series for so much more than what it provided me during those tough times, but it really helped me through some tough emotional struggles growing up. This movie not only hit home with me, I am willing to bet it hit home with many of you as well. A touching story, a well put together script, and the journey of a child escaping into the Zelda world. If you are going to do fan films folks, this is the way it’s meant to be.

This Zelda fan film is sad but amazing. Kennedy Baruch is the creator of this award winning film, which took home the crown at the student shorts competition at the Asian Film Festival in Dallas. I would buy this girl a Wii U and every Zelda game ever released. Thanks goes out heavily to Destructoid, who wouldn’t let us miss out on this amazing film.
