While this isn’t exactly a new revelation, it appears many have overlooked the fact that Link is indeed in Tri Force Heroes and that yes, you play as him. This was clarified again in a recent interview published on Game Informer, who got a chance to sit down with Tri Force Heroes director Hiromasa Shikata. There has been a lot of confusion surrounding this mostly due to the multiplayer aspect. How can three Link’s exist at the same time when an element like the Four Sword doesn’t appear to be present? Who is actually playing as Link and who plays as the dolls? There are lot of great questions to be answered, but Shikata clarifies plainly that yes, you are Link answering the call:

Is there a narrative to the game?

I can give you a brief overview. The story takes place in a world that is not Hyrule, but in a kingdom that is fashion-obsessed. In that kingdom, an event happens. The event involving the princess of the kingdom…

Is her name Zelda?

No. The king, of course, wants to solve this problem – to circumvent this happening – so he makes a general call out to the kingdom for heroes to assemble. Who answers the call? Link. And that’s the beginning of your adventure.

Straight and to the point. Are you glad you’ll be playing as Link? How do you think the explanation is going to work out for who gets to play as Link in multiplayer? Is everyone Link?
