Rumor: Nintendo NX’s Detachable Controllers Will Have Motion Control and Advanced Vibration Feedback

Nintendo’s new console, code-name NX, is on all of our minds these days as its reveal is looming closer. There is no official date set in stone as far as the public is concerned, but we do know Nintendo specified it would be in the fall. It is widely accepted that NX is a portable console with detachable controllers using the Nvidia Tegra X1 (or possibly the X2) chip, as many sources have backed the initial report from Eurogamer. Now, another site has crawled out of the woodwork to add their support to the claims, and also has presented some new information.

Let’s Play Video Games has stated the detachable controllers rumored to be a feature of NX are capable of motion control, similar to Wii Remotes. LPVG claims their report is based on two independent sources, and says one of them acted as a source for when Until Dawn: Rush of Blood leaked one week before its official announcement day. Check out the breakdown below, but don’t forget to take this information with a grain of salt.

• NX’s detachable controllers are capable of motion control.
• They are specified to be “similar in fidelity to the Wii Remote Plus.”
• The controllers are in place to phase out the Wii Remote over time
• Wii Remotes will be able to be used for select multiplayer titles, but not all games.
• NX controllers feature a form of “advanced vibration force feedback.”
• “The force feedback functionality of the controller has been described by one source as ‘very similar to the Vive controller, in that it alters intensity, pulsing patterns and duration of vibration to mimic the sensation of a range of different movement types. It’s not just one vibration for all situations, there’s a notable difference between the hard abrupt feedback of a sword clash or the softer, longer thud of something like hitting a tennis ball.'” — LPVG
• Just Dance 2017 will support NX motion controls, with Wii Remotes supported for multiplayer.
• It will launch alongside NX on day 1.

It would seem as if Nintendo is trying to use the massive success of the Wii and massive success of their handheld market to create another success with the NX. Of course, this is just my opinion.
