Kickstarter for a Parody Legend of Zelda Animated Movie

“In the style of Family Guy’s Blue Harvest Star Wars, this film will take a hilarious epic journey through the story of Ocarina of Time.“

SmashBits, a small animation studio that’s been around for about four years, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for an animated movie based on Ocarina of Time, and it looks awesome.

According to the Kickstarter, this will take about 12 months to make, and they’re asking for $225,000, all costs considered.

Watch their introduction video above, to see exactly what they’re planning, and you can get some idea of the rest of their work here, with a Demoreel they made earlier this year. It’s certainly a very impressive studio, and I’m very interested to see how this looks in the end.

We are making a feature length animated movie parody on the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. It will be done in the style of Family Guy’s Blue Harvest Star Wars. For those unfamiliar with Family Guy’s parody of the Star Wars films, it is basically a step by step, scene by scene, parody of the Star Wars films. We are going to take an epic journey through the story of Ocarina of Time to joke about as many aspects of the game we possibly can. There will be lots of humor for those who have never played Ocarina of Time. While at the same time this will definitely be something very special for hard-core Ocarina veterans. We will need to expound upon the story and characters a little in order for the movie to have proper narrative flow. We are going to expand the story of what happens off screen in the game. We will elevate the screen time of Ganondorf and Zelda. This is the movie everybody has been waiting for. It will be a journey of epic proportions.
