Well, Hyrule Warriors‘ launch figures are now in for North America. 190,000 units combined (as in, retail and digital) were sold in North America from launch to today. While these aren’t massive numbers, it combined with continued Mario Kart 8 sales helped boost Wii U sales nearly 50% over the previous month (August). While this may not necessarily be impressive on it’s own, I would estimate the the game has now sold roughly 500k world wide, which isn’t a bad starting point for a spin off title on a system that isn’t owned by many. Time will tell if it can bring in a consistent 15 to 20k a week for a long stretch of time like most true first party titles tend to do. Here is what Nintendo said in a press release about it:

“Sales of Wii U hardware also saw double-digit increases in September, increasing by nearly 50 percent over sales in August. These gains were driven in particular by two software titles: Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart 8. Hyrule Warriors launched on Sept. 26 and has already sold more than 190,000 combined units in the U.S. alone. Mario Kart 8 sold nearly 60,000 combined units in its fifth month on the market, bringing its lifetime total in the U.S. to nearly 1.2 million total units.”

Today, the Master Quest DLC pack released for Hyrule Warriors, so we’ll see if sales continue to push higher as the game itself get’s ongoing support and content.
