Straight from the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, we’re getting our first look at Breath of the Wild gameplay running on the Nintendo Switch in real time. The Switch reveal footage was added after filming as is customary for those kinds of productions, so it’s impossible to know if it was Wii U or Switch gameplay. That doesn’t matter now, as Fallon played Breath of the Wild using a Nintendo Switch. He doesn’t play the game for very long, but it’s enough. It should be noted that Nintendo of America’s president Reggie Fils-Aimé is there as well, and he lets Fallon play Super Mario Run for a few minutes before the Switch steals the spotlight.

The duo gave a clear demonstration of what the Switch is, and had the crowd cheering at what Nintendo’s new console can do. The Breath of the Wild footage looked gorgeous—as far as I can tell there were no frame rate drops. If this was the Wii U version, the FPS certainly would have taken a dip during the explosion. Be sure to give your thoughts on the footage in the comments below.
