Things are about to get real here on Fan Fiction Friday. Since we started this series, we have had fans submit some epic adventures and even one that just wanted to make us laugh. Last week, we featured a full story titled “The Doppelganger Trilogy”. This week we are looking at another story written and submitted by one of our fans. This story is set in Ordon Village, before the events of Twilight Princess. A young Ilia awaits the arrival of her younger sibling with her father, Bo. “Tattered Teddy” by OrdonianHero is not for the faint of heart.

Twilight Princess was never really clear about what happened to Ilia’s mother. We are made aware that Bo is Ilia’s father, but nothing really beyond that. She is mentioned only once by Gor Coron when he states that it was fortunate Ilia took after her mother in her appearance. This story delves into that empty plot hole and fills it with something fitting for the mood of the game that follows. I feel that it really captures the bond between Link and Ilia and even builds the characters in a way that prepares them for the coming adventure. It is a short story, but it does a really great job of bringing the fantasy world into reality with a nice touch at the end for those “feel good” vibes.

I have to say that I’m very excited to be sharing this story with you. Lien, under the surname OrdonianHero, has written multiple short stories based on the

Legend of Zelda series. Lien is a very talented story teller who knows how to pull something truly powerful out of a small number of words. Lien’s profile on FanFiction.net states:

My name is Lien. I enjoy writing, though with owning a learning disability that sometimes get in the way of my writing. I tend to write out dabbles or short stories that are mainly one shot things. I hope you will enjoy my writing and hope that my spelling or grammar doesn’t hinder the story that it makes it bad. I shall do my best and edit most of what I can. I go through writer block a lot, not the least is fun. Beyond that…I have been a Zelda fan since the age of 10 and I currently have been cosplaying as Link for over two years now. I love to write interesting stories. Ones that come from realism and personal experiences. So you may find moments in my story where you will get an insight to my own personal life. Enjoy.

It’s always incredible to see someone own their disability and push through it to bring out something truly magical. I applaud Lien, not for this feat alone, but for creating a story that brought me to tears. It just goes to show that our fans are all different in their own way, but that’s what makes us awesome. We all have a passion for the

Zelda series and I feel privileged to be a part of this fan community. To read this incredible story, click the source link below.

As always, if you have any works of your own, please submit them in the comments section, and you will be featured in a future Fan Fiction Friday. Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t a writer though; you can always give us a link to your favorite fan works, and it might be featured as well. Just remember, our fans are our priority, so fan written works come first.

While some may not enjoy works posted by our fans, others will, and we wish to keep a friendly environment for all fans of the Zelda series. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but we want our fans to feel safe in sharing work they have passionately created here on Zelda Informer. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
