Cuccos Can be Enemies or Allies in Hyrule Warriors

In tonight’s Hyrule Warriors Direct, Cuccos were said to fulfill their usual role as feathery demons that will swarm you should you incur their wrath. It looks like they will fill the battlefields like other enemies if you hit one on accident. On the other hand, the little birds can apparently be used as allies, though how was not mentioned.
