Eiji Aonuma is definitely taking some new directions with the Zelda series. His support for Hyrule Warriors, continuing well into the release of the title in Japan, is no exception. Aonuma has apparently been checking the Miiverse to get fans’ responses to the game and taking them to heart. One particular bit of feedback has grabbed his attention more than others: cutscenes. In his interview with Nintendo Life, he mentioned that he has been excited to see the amount of enthusiasm for the cutscenes by fans. This has left him feeling “a little conflicted” because he wants to make sure that Zelda U can “hold its own in that aspect”. Well, he says it best:

“Looking at the comments on Miiverse regarding Hyrule Warriors, it’s been great to see a lot of positive feedback. But one of the things that leaves me with rather complicated feelings is that people are saying, “Oh wow, I really love the cutscenes in this game! This is better than the stuff Nintendo does!” Of course, that leaves me a little conflicted, and gives me a mission now to make sure that the new Zelda game that I’m working on can hold its own in that aspect against Hyrule Warriors!”

I like that Aonuma is listening to what is making the fans happy with their current products and implementing it in future titles. Given what we saw at E3 in the

reveal trailer, I believe that the Wii U has the potential to provide a truly breathtaking cinematic experience that will bring the world of Hyrule to life in many ways. What do you think about Aonuma’s reaction? Do you like that he’s listening to his fans and implementing our ideas into his games? Let us know in the comments below.
